Jonathan: you should all be very proud!
Indeed, 4 people involved in a refurb of a small transistor radio, and I dont know how many checking on the thread, that makes me proud to be a member of this forum.
Congratulations, and yes, a beautiful color

Yes - must confess to having been surprised it didn't go for more. We'll see what sort of condition it is in soon!

Re: Painting Beolit panels
The numbers are quite confusing - I'll have a go at simplifying things:
There are two main types - the FM only and the multi-band.
The FM only are the 400, 500 and 505. The 400 differs from the other two in that it requires an external transformer - the BeoPower 600 - to run off the mains. The 400 and 500 were available at the same time, though the 400 seems to have been introduced first. It was the cheapest and I would guess is the one I see least of. These two models have the aluminium finish. They were replaced by the 505 which was finished in anodised black.
The multi-band were the 600 and 700 - similar in spec to the 400 and 600, with the 600 needing the external transformer, and the 707 being the replacement black version.
Their specs are all the same with the exception of the weight which was the most for the 700/707 and the least for the 400. Colours varied but the common ones were red, beige and black for the 400 - 700 and black, red and curry for the 505/707. There was a blue version of the 505/707 and of course the sought after lilac in the earlier model. As Tim rightly points out though, it is only sought after because no-one wanted one at the time!
My favourite is the 700 because I prefer the metal finish in this model and I like having a proper transformer in it.

Re: Painting Beolit panels
I've being following this thread, apart from cosmetic and cleaning, what else is there to do or watch for on these amazing pieces of art ??
Leslie can you make a thread, like Martins Jet set, for your incoming transistor radio. Well Martin is writing like Agathe Christie, so just do your very best.

Søren Mexico: I've being following this thread, apart from cosmetic and cleaning, what else is there to do or watch for on these amazing pieces of art ??
First and foremost the speaker - does it work properly instead of binding? There aren't any replacements.
Then, the antenna.. is it straight with no nicks and with the proper top...
The models with a perspex window, how yellow is it... is the handle bar scratch free... the three tabs that hold the bottom plate in place... are the knobs all there, you might miss them in a listing and fixing them is hard...
The cardboard tube for the batteries - you're not going to need it for anything, but it adds to the value...
Not to mention "does it work". It's flippin' endless.

Yes, they are working properly
Then, the antenna.. is it straight with no nicks and with the proper top...
Yes, it is

Bright transparent
is the handle bar scratch free
Shi. No, few scratches and the text is almost gone
the three tabs that hold the bottom plate in place... are the knobs all there, you might miss them in a listing and fixing them is hard...
Still there
The cardboard tube for the batteries - you're not going to need it for anything, but it adds to the value...
Some pictures from the 700 I got. It still has to be cleaned and some dust particles behind the perspex which has to be removed. How to do that?
@Nickyg63, Thanks for your offer but no need to be repainted, still looks excellent!
@Soren, Will do my best to make pictures when it has been restored or better, cleaned.
