    faulty beocom 2400??

Hi all i need a bit of help?

i sold my beocom 2400 on ebay and it went to singapore but the guy said it wont work but i was on a call with it just before i boxed it up, he said he had tried different leads in the phone but still wont work so he complained to ebay and they have give him a full refund! (would this phone still work in singapore?)

I got the phone back this morning and tested it myself and now it does not work! when the batteries are in all the menu functions work but no dial tone without the batteries nothing works so its not getting any power from the line?

What i would like to know is could he have caused this by putting different leads and connections in?

Can anyone advise on what could be wrong with it?

    Cheers

    Mark

    Kind Regards, Mark

Sorry to hear that. I think you need to look at the ebay forums and see where you stand, although I suspect it is their word against yours at the end of the day.

I think to win you would have to somehow prove he was responsible for damaging the phone and not your packaging or the courier.

Just an update when anyone calls the phone will ring but i cant answer it, has anyone had similar problems on an idea on what caused this?

I know it was nothing to do with how it was packed as it was bubbled wrapped and double boxed, i believe it has somthing to do with the guy in singapore using different cables? but i confirm it!

If it is a UK phone would it work over there?

    Kind Regards, Mark

Well I would have suggested the glass reed switch on the main board but they are pretty tough and non of your symptoms confirm this.

I can't see how the telephone system differs in singapore tbh but I am no telecommunications expert.

put it on ebay as spares / repairs or send to B&O..?

    Re: faulty beocom 2400??

I am afraid this phone comes from a line of components that B&O would only encourage or support changing of whole PCB's. As an example, if the buttons fail as a result of a faulty membrane it would seem you have to replace the whole enclosure! The Display and inner board base and handset would be spared. I found a way of removing the keypad membrane without damage but I could tell it was never designed to come out once installed!!!

I am afraid as far as I am aware your only options are as above.

    Olly.
