Hello,
I have been recently writing in another post about a Beogram 4002 that I was able to bring back from the dead with a whole lot of help from the great people on this forum Beogram 4002 Not Functioning Properly After Capacitor Replacement. I have three of the 4002 tables and one is now in working order but I would like to fix one of the others as well. I replaced the capacitors in one but may have damaged the board by inserting a plug wrong after the install so I set it aside and worked to fix the one I have been posting about. So I am back to the sick table that partially works. What is not working is I am getting no sound in one of the channels. Is there a way of checking that to see ifthe problem is the wires to the arm as opposed to something in the board? I saw the following post on the forum Re: Beogram 5500 series sound only on one channel where it was suggested that to test the tonearm you could turn the cartridge upside down and lightly tap it but don't think that this works on the 4002. Any suggestions would be helpful.
Regards,
John
Quite correct - doesn't work for the MMC20 cartridges. You will have to test the continuity using a meter.
