Beovision 7 problem HELP PLEASE :)

    hello,

im new to the forum so hello everyone.

Basically iv got a beovision 7 its not hd or freview got it years ago with beolab7-2 i think on a motorised floor stand, iv never had a problem with it untill i came to turn it on this morning and it just wouldnt! its asif its stuck on standby with the standby light on.

Iv tried changing the remote batteries and the fuse in the plug but nothings changed.

I popped into town this morning and spoke b&o but i think they where more focused on selling me a new one than commom faults and such.

If anyone has any ideas it would be much appreciated, im quite technical and dont mind getting my hands dirty.

    many thanks Scott

Unplug everything from electricity for a few minutes, and try again. At least it is the first thing to try ;)

Do you have a Beosound linked to it ?

Have you checked the remote? Are you shure it works? If you put your digital camera or phonecamera in front of the beo4 and push a button, can you se a blue light in the camera viewfinder?

Just tried the remote with the camera and there was two little blue lights.

I'm pretty stuck if I was to sell the motorised stand and the speaker how much would they roughly fetch?? I can then put it towards a new one.
And maybe the t.v for spares.
    Many thanks Scott

you should not be having to buy a new TV or speaker or stand just to solve a problem !

(BTW when the question was asked about a beosound or beosystem being connected with the beovision, they did not mean the beolab speaker)

for problem determination we should ignore the stand for the moment

let us focus on the TV (beovision) -- you powered it off for a while, and now it is powered on, and you press TV ... and nothing happens? not even a flicker to the beovision's standby light?

First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

sorry only just got back to you im with the t.v now.

I powered it off at the wall for  a couple of hours plugged it back in and still nothing the standby light doesnt even flicker.

The screen did seem to make a small sound asif it was turning on but nothing happened, now it doesnt make any noise.

I think you should contact the dealer again and ask them to repair your TV. It probably needs a new chassis. And if they try to sell you a new one, my cardealer also would like to sell me a new car when I have a problem with mine. And what if the lights in my house don't work anymore? Buy a new house? That is not how it works. A BeoVision 7 can be repaired and your dealer should repair it!

    Hi Scott,

    Any success?

I think mine is having the same problem so I was hoping you could tell me what the problem was and how it was fixed?

    Some additional information:

I tested a different remote and that didn't make any difference.

Powered it off for about a day and it worked again, but just for a short while. When I tried to turn it on again after about half a day it didn't respond. Just like before.

    Many Thanks.

It has not been returned yet but the dealer agrees with Blackrix.

I will report back whether the chassis change has indeed solved the problem.

The chassis change did indead solve the problem.

It cost me about €750 but at least it's working again.
