Apple TV & Beolab Active Speakers

    Hi

I am thinking of buying a pair of Beolab 1 speakers.

I want to use an Apple TV (New version) as the main source with a HD TV for video and the beolabs for sound.

The apple TV has optical audio out and the beolab 1 have an RCA analogue in. I can buy a converter from lindy audio to convert the signal however I think that I may lose the volume control.

If this is the case, can I run the speakers via a cheap amplifier or pre amp?

and if, so what would I need (is it a pre amp out)?

    Please help.

    Cheers

    Steve

    Hi Steve,

Just plug the Beolabs into the heaphone socket of the TV (assuming that this is connected to the AppleTV via HDMI).

This gives you sound with volume control - no extra equipment needed!

    Kind regards,

    Steve.

    Hi Steve

    Thanks for the info,

The only thing with this is that I would have a headphone socket permanently plugged into the tv.

    Also,

I pressume the volume would be controlled via the tv?

And, would the sound quality be okay?

I can use this as my Last Resort, however I was hoping for a neater solution.

If you have any other suggestions I would be grateful.

    Thanks

    Steve
