looking for beovox or beolab 3000 /4500 eventually 5000

    Hello everybody,

I am looking for a pair of beovox or beolab of the family 3000/4500 in blue (last point may not sound very "audiophile", but is key).

I would also consider the 5000 family.

I also need a T6111 adapter to link my beocenter 9300 to my beovision 7-32

    Kind regards

    François

The "going rate" in the UK for a good pair of Beovox 3000's is now over or around  their price when new!

You must want them very badly.Devil

If anyone has some Blue Beolab 5000's I'd be interested if they are a reasonable amount!

Seem to see  few that have been for sale for months at expensive prices.....

Re: looking for beovox or beolab 3000 /4500 eventually 5000

    Well, we will not compete:

Meanwhile, I know I can only have 3000 or 4500 (veto from Ms. regarding the size of the 5000, which I preffered. And who said that size would not matter for women...) In blue.

It seems that beolab could be better, due to the shortcomings -alleged, as they say in the news -- of the BC9300 in terms of amplifier.

3000 and 4500 are basically the same, Thus, I can say:

"beolab or not beolab, that is the question" as they say in some Danish play Big Smile

    Be seing you, François

I hope the cross posting does not make anybody cross

Hmm -I really don't understand that some women think the 5000's are too big. Huh? I can understand that women does not like big boxes placed on the floor...but the BL/vox 5000? Come on...I mean: It's like a piece of art that you hang on the wall -like a Poster or a Painting.
How about a flatscreen..? Is that too big too..?

Why do some guys let the wife decide everything in the house? I've put the heels in years ago, before I turned into a "doormat". Devil
You are two adults -and you should both decide. Noy only you -not only her. Sometimes it's rewarding to take the fight. Big Smile

    Steffen,

I live a perfectly typical French marriage, where I decide about everything, as long as my decision pleases my wifeBig Smile.

Now we live in Switzerland and everything major goes through a referendum

More seriously, on big ticket item, we both have veto rights. Speaking of flat screens, I vetoed them for six years, so that now we do not anymore wish to have a television. (having again a TV was vetoed by the kids. the BV7-32 works only as computer screen)

Pick only fights that matter is my motto -- and win them!

    Best regards to your wife

I have a pair of Beolab 3000's in excellent working order.  They are a little scratched up and I cannot tell you whether they are blue or grey without looking at them again.  They are US model (110V).  Let me know if you are still interested and I will check them out to see what the color is.

By the way, the 3000's actually sound good.  The displays are definitely a selling point.

    Dear Michael,

Many thanks for your offer, but I am afraid that 110V will require an adapter for the 240V we have here in Switzerland, and I had bad experiences with adapters (as in BZZZZ! PSHHHT! Kaput, if I may say so).

BTW, you are the very first person from Oklahoma I ever meet

    Greetings from Switzerland

Good luck finding them.  I have actually sold some B&O stuff to someone in Switzerland.  I also saw that there are some Vox 4500's on Ebay and they are in Oklahoma.  I am sure you will find what you need.

I am sure your stuff would work properly with the right transformer. However, my last experience using 110V with adapters was not exactly a success, and as the saying goes: once burnt, twice shy.

A high concentration of beovox and beolab in Oklahoma?

This just sound like an excellent "X-file" subject: The return of Beowulf: A secret ring of Nordic gods worshiper, astutly disguised as Hi-Fi merchants and afficionnados, prepares for the rise of Walhalla. Everybody who does not own either a drakkar, a broadsword, a battleaxe, or at least a BeoCenter is damned.

Imagine: the rolling hills of Oklahoma under a stormy sky, the sound of Wagner's Walkyrie charge (which system for that?) and Mulder who takes a right turn instead of a left one, as suggested by Scully.

I wanted Beolabs 3000/4500 and I settled down for beovox 5000, which I found almost next door. They are slightly too big for my living room, but Gosh! are they good looking. In terms of sound they are almost as good as the Infinity they replace.

Many thanks for everybody's good advices and especially to Graham and his great brackets.

    Be seing you
