    Bang & Olufsen Dealer Mexico

Today I send my son to B&O Mexico city to buy or order a fuse for one of my BL 4000s, he went there with the spare part number, 6600150, Fuse T 63mA 125V for type 6638, and of course the speaker s/n number, their answer was "we dont sell spareparts, we sell equipment", but if you bring the speaker we can check it and MAYBE repair it. Is this normal behavior for a B&O dealer ??

3-4 years ago we had a lot of brown and black outs, sometimes this speaker did'nt work, the other one always, I took it to the dealer and after 4 weeks they told me the speaker was OK, I pick it up, when I came home I saw a cross scratched on the top deep into the alumium, they put that there to reconice it. I later found out that I had to have a line regulator or a nobreak to have a more or less even voltage supply.

Can someone explain to me how in the world B&O will continue to exist as a major brand without a proper costumer service.

Consider, I dont want to do a big repair or anything like that I only want to change a friggin fuse!

    Soren;

Sorry to hear about your experience in Mexico.

Are you trying to install that part yourself ?

    Soren,

Unbelievable. Send them to "la chingada madre" and buy it from the internet, or any other dealer even in the USA. I guess they will ship it for you. At least you now know where NOT to buy your next B&O.

    Soren...

I know the repair guy in Montreal area. Hi does not give a s...t for the B&O products. He does not care for them. That moron is not even an enthusiast. 2 products I sent to be repaired and were returned scratched!!!!  I even sent an e-mai to B&O head office  and like usually no answer.

So for that reason, next time I..ll send them to be repaired in Toronto.  They have a good repair service!!!

On a positive note, I have 3 Monster Power products.. I had a problem with one of them: NO WARRANTY ON IT.  I called them to know how much it will cost me to be repaired and they send me a new one in BOX in exchange via UPS 2 days later....so no WARRANTY and exchanged aftyer 6 years for a new model...that is service...at no cost...

    all sold!

I opened up my speaker as it did not show green or red light, then I checked the schematics from this site, checked first thing the F fuses and then opened the other speaker to be sure about what I was doing, and to confirme that my diagnoses was right, took the fuse from one speaker to the other, worked OK, so, conclusion its the fuse, no big deal in an A country, but here its a disaster, I have to find this, for Mex, very special fuse somewhere else, ship it for a horrible amount of money, compared to the price of the fuse, wait for it for some 46 days or more, god knows, and these specialist at the shop put out their big lip and tell me, we sell equipment not spares. In the future maybe I will stay with my antic B&O equipment that I can repair myself, get parts anywhere else, or get Martin going to help me, this forum is the best thing that ever happened to B&O, and maybe some intelligent B&O employed person, if they got one, will take action, I'm going to solve my problem one way or the other, but this is the way for B&O to lose their many years upbuild, rumor or not, good name for quality and service.

And that sucks deep in my soul.

My local will sell just about any parts to me. I asked for new Alu casing to change my beolab 4000s to black and they said they would order them and I could fit them myself.

I think that dealer is just being an idiot.

    LOL! I hardly think that's a rationale

Well Soren is a cultural thing. It reminds me of their term "ahorita" which literally translated means "right now". Well, have a sit and wait patiently because it could really be 10 minutes or 10 weeks.Big Smile

    Hi Soren,

Sorry to hear that B&O dealers in Mexico aren't as customer focused as we are - I've ordered some fuses for you - send me your details and I'll ship them to you!

    Best,

    Nick

Wish my local dealer was like that. Can't be now because they have recently closed!

One of the things I love about Mexico is that in the rest of Latin America they (used to) say "one moment" and then taken some time

But in Mexico they said "one small moment" and then took longer Laughing Laughing

First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

Normaly you get good and proper service, also here in Mexico, but sometimes the people who sells expensive equipment get somehow snobby, about their equipment and themselves, they seeme to live in a dreamworld, not realizing that a 2 $ deal may result in a bigger one, and treatening every costumer the same way is just not posible for people like this, and you find them everywhere.

I have been living in Mexico for 20 years, and I love it here, but when people bites my butt I get angry, as luck will I send my son for the fuse and his temper isnt as mine, if I had been there it would have been a disaster.

Amazing, I send Nick my addres, and of course asked for a way to pay for the fuses.

    Hi Soren,

I won't charge you - a gesture of goodwill from Bang & Olufsen of Sheffield!

Was his answer, if I ever comes to Sheffield he is in for at least one beer. Thank you Nick

Let's not judge a great country like Mexico because of this anecdote. I tell you is a miracle they still have a BnO shop over there. The support network from the brand itslef is not nearly similar as the one we have in Europe.
