I dont know about the 5, but I run all my non BO from my Onkyo control and BO from BO4. Flat screen LG, LG blue ray and Onkyo, zone 2 is BM 2400 and thats manual as the BO4 doesnt manage that one.

Beosound 3000, BL 4000, BL 8000, BG 2404,BG 5000, BG CD50, Beocord 5000, BM 901, BM 2400, BM 4000, BV S45, BV 3702. There is nothing we cannot do, but a lot of things we don't want to do!!

It certainly is possible to control your Onkyo Receiver directly from the Beo5

If your Onkyo is model TXSR-700 or similar then I have already created a XML file for it which you can download HERE

I had no idea you could directly control non B&O products directly.

Thanks Keith! I will try it. I have got TX-NR1008 Receiver.

How do you create such a file?

To create a 3rd party XML file yourself will require you to first capture all the IR codes from the original remote with a IR capture hardware and software.

If you have access to a Lintronic box, then you can capture the codes and either use the Lintronic software or the Beoworld XML Generator available for download on the Beoworld web site for Silver and Gold members.

    Re: Onkyo Receiver with Beo5

I configured my Beo5 with the Onkyo IR codes. Really cool. Everything works fine but I have got a problem. I would like to make a macro. F.e. If I press the AppleTV button then I would like that the Onkyo receiver switch on and choose the correct channel. After that the AppleTV starts. I tried it but I can't solve it. The problem is that it looses all the time the IR commands. It only saves the delays. Can somebody help me?

    Thank you

    Re: Onkyo Receiver with Beo5

The problem is in the code of the Onkyo xml file.

When a key contains a combined command like a code, then a delay and then a new code, then this key is misinterpretated by the tool when it recalculates.

I can see from the code that it is NEC32 with special repeat. Special repeat means that the main code is send first and then it is followed by a simple repeating signal as long as the button is held down.

The proper way to code a key with special repeat is as follows:
    stIR="NEC:GlobalManual=1#IRSEQUENCE=NEC#BITS=101101000100100100010110111010011#ALTBIT=#MARKFLANK=560#SPACEFLANK=560#SPACE2FLANK=1680#PRESIGNALHI=9000#PRESIGNALLO=4500#Pause1=65000#Pause2=65000#Carrier=38#REPEATSIGNAL=1#Comment=NEC 32bits"

    @ guffas.

Oh. It sounds very technically. What do I have to do with those key codes? Confused

    Thanks
