The strangest thing happened to my beocom 6000

Happy new year to all. I have had this problem for years that my beocom 6000 will switch off on me not all but most of the time when it rings. The set is 10 year old but over the years the handset has been replaced twice already and only the base and the cables are from the original purchase. I kind of live with the problem for over 2 years thanks to another beocom 1600.

Last week the 6000 died on me again but only this time when I tried to reset it by putting it back on the base, the whole phone book disappeared. I had to manually input some of the most used numbers again. Only to my amusement all entries came by to me today. I have no idea why it happened and I am sure it has nothing to do with 1st Jan. Anyone had this experience before.
