Show me your BeoSystem 7000 black, please?

    Hey guys

I need a new system and I was bidding on a Beosystem 6500 in Japan and I didn't win. Sucks but I wasn't sure about the seller.I went to the B&O shop today to buy a BS4 and couldn't do it. I just want a Beosystem but I have been put off by the crazy shipping. About 150quid. I have decided just to take the hit as the yen is pretty strong.

I love the classic silver and I think it looks amazing but I have been offered a black one (just BM and CD) for a good price. I do like them and tried to build one about 2 years ago but a Dutch guy took my money and sent me something fit for scrap. I have been looking for a picture of actual Black beosystems that are in peoples home's but I can't find any on Google. I guess it brings up black and Alu instead.

If you have a black Beosystem 7000 can you please post a picture of it? I just want to see how it looks in it's natural habitat rather than in an advert.

    Thanks

    Mike

So what's the story behind the black beosystem - I didn't know they existed until I saw Lee's avatar and even then thought it was a paint job....

Must say they look even more stunning than the white system!

I don't know the story but white was the extra option with the Beosystem 5500 which Beosystem 6500 also had though the silver/chrome was the standard instead of the mat colour that the Beosystem 5500 had.

In order for it to have something speciel to offer other than the Beolink 7000 which was instead of the MCP the difference between the Beosystem 6500 and 7000 is not that different. You may have more radio stations and RDS but that is basically it. Fell free to ad more if you know any.

So the only option to make it stand out would be the colour options which had black added. The Beosystem 7000 replaced 6500 so they had to come up with something I guess.

That's my thought anyway on why.

Re: Show me your BeoSystem 7000 black, please?

Yes, the black 7000 look much better than the white one, the white syste looks much more plastic and a lot tackier in my opinion. The black Beogram looks a bit odd, the black platter is not that beautiful imho, but still much better than the white one. The alu version is my favourite, I think that the mix of aluminium panels and black really makes Jensen's design shine, but the black version is also beautiful in its own way

The black edition did not sell as well as the aluminium version, although it was listed in the catalogues (and pictured in some). Can't remember if it was available from the launch of the 7000 or if it was added later, though.

Black 7000's like the white systems are talked about on the forum but not that easy to sell.

The market for both is smaller than the standard Black/polished alu versions so they don't make as much as you would think. I am very wary of buying black or white for sales stock.

It may take some time to find a good one. Most are marked in some way.

    @ The Major

Carriage to Japan is expensive. I quoted £85 to ship a CD6500 just this morning and I would be making a loss!!

The quote was £78 via FedEx plus £5 insurance plus £8 for carton and sufficient bubble wrap to get it there in one piece plus VAT.

    Regards Graham

Check out Lee's avatar - he's got a black Beosystem 7000. One was for sale on the local craig's list about a month ago, was much tempted.

I always thought the white editions went for a lot more money! A Knackered white Beogram went for £150 near me recently and working beogram for over £300, can't remember exactly how much. Must admit I was surprised by the first example!version

    No they did not!

The Beosystem 6500 had the MCP6500 but it changed to the Beolink 7000.

By the time the Beosystem 7000 came out to replace Beosystem 6500 the Beolink 7000 was standard remote for it.

Not true. There is a black MCP that was sold as an option with the Beosystem 7000.

Well, new challenge for me to paint the silver plate type black, if that would be the only difference. This in order to match with my black 7000 system.

Do you sell B&O products? If so and you have Beomaster or Beogram 6500/7000 in any colour other than white and will ship to Japan, drop me an e-mail.
