    Beovision 6 upgrade?

Will the Beovision 6 be upgraded, or is it to be dicontinued in the near future? I would regret it becaus of it's beautiful design. There're not many site-visitors that seem to regard the picture-quality as state of the art?

    Re: Beovision 6 upgrade?

    Hi JC,

well personally I have nothing to talk about the BV6. As you can see below I am a proud owner of a BeoCenter6 26 which was originally produced at the early beginning of the BeoV. BeoC. 6 lifecycle.

The only problem you might face is the quite limited connectivity of the 6. Mine as being a BeoCenter6 with only one DVI plug might need to be upgraded sooner or later. But anyway, as I still like the design a lot and as I am still very happy with the picture quality I am going to use it either in the bedroom or as my monitor in the home office.

    Cheers,

Absolutely true for BC6 and BV6 Mk1 & Mk2,  but recent Mk 4 types offer a bit more connectivity ...

    2 x Scart
2 x HDMI with HDCP support
    1 x Set of 3 phono Y-Pb-Pr Component inputs
    1 x BeoLink ML
    1 x Camcorder/Auxiliary
        1 x phono video in
1 x phono audio right in
1 x phono audio left in
    1 x PC input VGA D-Sub
    1 x Headphone socket 3,5mm jack
2 x Power link - or 6 x Power link - if optional DSM (Dolby) mounted
    2 x (only if DSM is mounted) Digital audio inputs 2 x phono A1 + A2
    2 x PUC output 2 x 3,5mm stereo jack = up to 4 PUC with splitter cable

    Re: Beovision 6 upgrade?

Does anybody know if you can upgrade a beocenter 6-26 with single dvi input to the dual hdmi input of the latest model?

Im trying to workout how to connect an apple tv2.

It has hdmi out (latest standard with audio signal) and digital audio out only.

    Thanks

    Hi,

I cannot comment on your installation but I have the BeoCenter 6 with DVI input and an Apple TV1 connected via a HMDI to DVI cable as well as analog sound.

Maybe there is some kind of splitter cable HMDI with sound to DVI and analog sound?!

Q1:  NO, you would have to change almost everything ...

Q2:  In theory, this box could solve your problem ...   !!! via google - never used the converter myself !!!

PS: buying a second hand A-TV1 could be a workaround

Thanks. Shame really.  What did the HD upgrade kit bring to the early versions of the BV6? did that give it a hdmi port or is it just a circuit board?

Thanks to for the link - Looks like a good product - wonder how much it is?

hdmi - dvi cable adapters are cheap and digital to analogue audio convertor is less than £50, so that is an option too.

Unfortunately I don't have the dss module - then I could just plug in the toslink cable and be done with it. I see from the 2008 price list that it was available as an upgrade to retrofit it, but it seems to have gone from the 2010 list.

HD upgrade kit brought - among other internal changes - HDCP for DVI and component inputs (Y-Pb-Pr = 3xphono)
    - but no HDMIs

Still available as a sparepart - but retrofitting is no easy DIY job ...

??  toslink cable ?? DSM has 2 coax RCA (phono) digital inputs !!

Ah,yes, just read that in my manual. DAC is the only way then.

Also just read that you cannot distibute a digital signal via masterlink, even if there was a way of converting the toslink to digital rca.

    I'm going off the idea!
