Hi everyone,
I've recently purchased a 32" Beovision 3 - now stupidly I didn't ask before buying whether it had the Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound Option, which of course, it didn't, and just has the ML socket on the rear. I did have before a MX7000 into a Kenwood 5.1 Amp, which sadly died shortly after I bought the Beo 3 - almost sod's law you would say.
I'm looking for a solution that would allow me to link the Beovision 3 to the passive speakers, without acquiring another variation on a 5.1 amp, as the 3 sits on the B&O Metal stand (unless it fits inside the stand!). I would settle for just 2.0 or 2.1, but would love to have the surround sound up and running again, with the TV as the centre speaker if possible.
I would like to use two Beovox Penta MkIII's as the front speakers, KEF C-Series as rears and an optional Sub when I really feel like it - what would be the most practical way of linking them all up with the 3? I have seen the ML/MCL converter Passive amp - would this work, or is this a non-starter? Should I just source another amp that fits in the stand? Or, is there a way of retrofitting the Dolby board into the Beovision 3?
All help or input greatly appreciated!
Mike
