    Beosound 3000 dies...

Faultless for 10 years, the 3000 has suddenly died.

The Red standby light is lit on the main unit & 6000 speakers. Load button will open & shut player, glass doors operate.

However nothing else does - no CD, no radio, no aux., nothing!

We did suffer a power out here just after it was last used...

Any help gratefully received here in Brasil

Dont worry, probably just a pincode issue...

Does the red light flash or is it constant?

While in standby, try pressing "left arrow/rewind" twice. This should give you the oppotunity to enter pin.

    Red light is constant.
No reaction to double pressing "left arrow/rewind" twice.

    I see

try unplugging mains for 30 minutes or so and then reconnect it, this should tricker the pinactivation.

Furthermore, is your BS 3000 masterlinked to something? If yes, try removing masterlink aswell, this sometimes screws things up.

    Hi Ehlerz,

The BeoSound is only connected to the 6000 speakers and the mains.

I am using the control buttons on the front panel, not the Beo4 remote.

Currently, I am trying to open the exterior casing to check for any internal fuses but it is not as simple as removing the seven screws on the back!

Ok, I would definitely try unplugging it for 30 minutes and then plug it back in the mains before disassembling it.

    Unplugging gets no result.

Opening the case is like a Rubik Cube.

    Help!!!
