Need Help !!! XML for Mitsubishi Projector... I have IRTRans

    Hi everyone,

I have a Mitsubishi Projector that I wish to control with my Beo 5 : simply ON and OFF functions !

I managed to get the IR codes with IRTrans :

    OFF
    Frequency : 39Khz
    Learned code (Basic) : S000011112010000100
    Learned code (Advanced) : [ N ]4[1]8360 4240[2]504 560[3]512 1600[4]512 4224[RC]4[RP]31[FREQ]39[SB][RS][ D ]S000011112010000100

    ON
    Frequency : 39Khz
    Learned code : S000011112100000100
    Learned code (Advanced) : [ N ]4[1]8360 4240[2]504 560[3]512 1600[4]512 4224[RC]4[RP]31[FREQ]39[SB][RS][ D ]S000011112100000100

I tried to use XML Generator, but it seems it needs a Lintronic file...

I have the latest FW version on my BEO5.

Thanks a lot for your help !!!

    Olivier,
    Paris, France

PS: I had to ad spaces to [ N ] and [ D ] in order to avoid emoticons ! Original code has no spaces

    Olivier,

Whilst I cannot help you at present because I am on holiday in a warmer area of the world, I wrote a Windows based program sometime ago to convert IRtrans captured codes into XML.

On my return I will convert them for you which will not be until 21st December.

    Regards Keith....

    Keith,

One more question, do you know if the ON/OFF button (the one outside the touch screen) of the Beo5 can be customized with the config tool ? Infact, i would love to add the function to turn on or off my video projector also with this button...

thanks for your great help !!

    Olivier,

The "Standby" button with the RED dot just turns the product off and CAN be programmed to turn OFF third party devices as well as the B&O product at the same time.

To "Turn On" a product you press the required screen button such as SAT. If for example you have a third Party TV called "Sony TV" you CAN program it to turn on the Sony TV and show the Sony commands on the Beo5 screen at the same time.

NOTE: Some combined functions (Macros) cannot be achieved with the Configuration Tool and you must manually edit your 3rd party XML file for the associated third party product, prior to adding it to your overall configuration.

Thanks a lot for your fast and very helpful answer !!

I come back to my original question concerning the IR codes I managed to capture from my videoprojector remote... with IRTrans...

How can i get these codes to function with the XML generator  ?

Many thanks again for your help !!!!

    Olivier,

I have had a look at your captured commands you generated with the IRtrans, unfortunately it appears that they were not captured 100% correctly. The defined carrier frequency at 39 Khz is certainly incorrect.

I have tried to re-construct the commands and have made an XML file based what I believe to be correct for you to test.

You can download the ZIP file containing the XML file HERE

If it does not work, then you will need to re-capture these commands.

    Keith,

Thanks again for all your help.

I learned the code again with IRed2 / IRTrans, but this time in Raw mode... I got a frequence at 38KHz (vs 39KHz learned in normal mode... funny !!)

Here is the complet code :

    ON

    Olivier,

The RAW timings look a lot better, but there is still a problem with the data captured.

Certainly, 38Khz looks correct and Mitsubishi use NEC protocol for most of their products, but your timings are missing the start timing which would be in the range 9000 4500. As your RAW timing includes several zeros (0) may mean that the IRtrans is counting the carrier frequency pulses during the "Pulse period"

Are there any other output formats the IRtrans product will produce ?

Thank you Keith for all your help on this.

Unfortunately, there is no other option to capture the signals with IRTRans.
I even tried to capture with a second IRTrans module (I have 2 modules, one USB, another Ethernet), but I always got the same codes :
I also tried to send the IR code from the IRTrans module, and it worked well : I managed to turn ON and OFF my Mitsubishi Projector.

Re: Need Help !!! XML for Mitsubishi Projector... I have IRTRans

    Oliver,

Based on your feedback I have concluded that the captured data is correct, the issue is how IRtrans software has displayed the data.

The information we know for sure from your data is:-

    1. It uses 39 Khz Carrier
    2. The start bit is 8392 4208

    The core problem for me is two elements, first the basic binary string has a "2" in it -- S 0000 1111 2 0100 0010 0 -- binary is "1" or "0"

Secondly, I have determined that any IRtrans RAW Pulse or Pause with a value of greater than 2048 micro seconds is split into two bytes starting with a "0" as in 0 32 200 -- This must mean their device uses a 12 bit processor.

Taking into consideration what I stated above, then from the "ON" RAW first 8 bits which is the device address is:-

    512 552 = 0
    520 552 = 0
    512 560 = 0
    512 552 = 0
    512 1608 = 1
    520 1592 = 1
    496 1632 = 1
    488 1624 = 1

The second 8 bits are the command

    488 592  = 0
    488 1632 = 1
    520 560  = 0
    512 568  = 0
    488 584  = 0
    488 592  = 0
    488 1624 = 1
    496 576 = 0

I think that the "2" shown in the binary string is a bug in IRtrans software because Mitsubishi are one of the very few company's to use a double pause between the device code and the command which is usually about 4200 micro seconds.

In your captured "ON" example the value of the Pause is 4144 microseconds made up of 0 120 1976 which is 2040 + 120 + 1976

Taking the above into consideration I will create an XML file tomorrow for you to try.

    Regards Keith....

Thank you Keith for all your help, but unfortunately, after copying successfully on my Beo5... the projector doesn’t give any answer to the commands, neither with OFF-1, ON-1 or POWER...

I really appreciate your help on this, and I dont want to abuse...

But I really dont know what i could do now...

    Olivier,

I am sorry to hear it is still not working.. Clearly, there is still something incorrect.

I think the best action would be for you to send me your original remote control, so that I can capture the commands.

I will send you an e-mail with my address..

    Regards Keith....

Re: Need Help !!! XML for Mitsubishi Projector... I have IRTRans

    Olivier,

After receiving your remote I did a quick check and it turns out that what I decoded and provided in the previous download was correct in as far as the protocol decode was concern.

The protocol used in “Proton” and uses a 38 Khz carrier Frequency.

However, the reason my file did not work is because this projector expects the same code to be sent at least 3 times for each command and I only sent it once. This protocol does not have any error detection, so what they do is wait for the command 3 times if it decodes as the same command, then it is executed. It is possible that it may have worked if you had pressed the button 3 times very fast.

Anyway, I will create a new XML file for you to test.

    Regards Keith....

Re: Need Help !!! XML for Mitsubishi Projector... I have IRTRans

    I Keith,

I'm discovering this thread and it seems that Olivier's problem is really close to the problem I had with IRTrans and 2 of my remotes (Philips HomeRun + Sony videoprojector) : "2" in the captured string, which works by resending it with IRTrans but not with your XML... I will also try to see if sending 3 times the code makes something to any of my devices... But before that, I need to have a PC at home in order to use the Config Tool Wink

    Keith,

Thanks a lot for your help, i received your latest test file, and everything is working perfectly well !!!! Thanks a lot !!!

    MBee,

I'm using Parallels on my Mac in order to launch the Config Tool, and I can do whatever i want.

Concerning the 3 times sending signal, pressing very fast 3 times the button on the Beo 5 didn’t work : I had to configure the Beo5 with the config tool in order to send this signal 3 times.. that worked well

    Olivier,

I am very pleased that everything is working well for you now.

    mbee

After receiving IRTrans captured codes from Olivier and others, its clear there is some issues with its outputed information from a capture, but the capture itself is fine. For example it does not provide information about "repeat" codes etc.

I suggest you post in the same way as Olivier a couple of captured commands from Homerun and the Sony Video Projector and we can see if we can successfully convert them, now we know the limitations of the IRtrans capture.

    Regards Keith....
