    beovision 7

    Hi,

I was chatting to a friend at a B&O dealer. I am looking at buying a 2nd hand beovision 7, he was telling me that the earlier versions have only a dvi socket and dvi does not carry sound? so another lead is needed I also need to masterlink a video signal to my bedroom and this also needs another module? I am then wondering that is it worth a standard definition sky box to save all the issues?? But then is it worth keeping my avant?  Whats your thoughts?

    Cheers Nick

I think it all depends on your needs.

Try to separate "needs" from "wants" and "desires".

Then you will be better able to describe the minimum of the features you need.

I don't myself see the need for a separate audio lead as a big problem: just an irritant.

You need two leads: the masterlink for the control and audio signals, and a video lead for the um err video - these is just a normal radio frequency antenna lead - you may also need to iinvest in the B&O RF module which is a smallish black box that sits between your antenna and the main BV.

To get the masterlink (and if the BV7 is like my BV8, the outbound RF video signal to the link room) you may need to purchase the BV7 system module.

I think the best thing is to get a precise inventory of what features and options are built into the specific model of BV7 you are being offered.

First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*
