    B&O Beogram CD 4500 Datalink

Hello all, I am a new member to this site, so I may appear to ask idiotic questions through ignorance of the way the site operates and my lack of detailed knowledge of the subject involved.  You may have to bear with me slightly. I have a Beogram CD 4500 cd player which is connected to a Beomaster 4500 receiver. The cd player datalink will not speak to the 4500 receiver. I suspect a broken connection in the 7 pin din plug. My cds play fine if I select " cd " manually on the receiver. The remote will not operate the cd player because obviously the remote speaks to the receiver to operate the cd player. At least that is my understanding of the process. I need a wiring diagram of the 7 pin DIN plug which connects the cd to the receiver. Unfortunately, the DIN lead is integrated into the cd player, otherwise I would have just replaced the lead. I would be obliged if anybody could help me.

    Regards,

    JD.

    Hey JD

Have you opened the DIN plug to see if any wires are loose or which one has come off?

Connect the CD4500 to the A.TAPE socket of your BM4500 and try to control it in A.TAPE mode. If this will work, your CD4500 should be ok.

    For the datalink wiring:

    Hope this helps.

Also really check that the 7-pin DIN cable from CD have really have all 7 pins in it. You can unscrew the "last" two on in order to make the cable fit a standard DIN -> RCA converter.  If its a new CD the prevous owner might have had it connected to a "non-Bang-reciver".
