    Beo4 with built in light

I have had an idea for a wile, and today i tryed building it.

4 small LED's in the beo4 display, to se "LIST" in the dark.

I still have some other tests to doo... Like less bright LED's maybe only 50mcd like on the left insted of 160mcd on the right.

The On and Off is controled by a small tilt-switch.

I will follow up, as the progress goes by.

Here is a video so far: http://m.youtube.com/index?desktop_uri=%2F&gl=US#/watch?xl=xl_blazer&v=kGni5NIeNt0

Very nice! Would you mind sharing the instructions how you made and installed it into the Beo 4?

Due to the tilt-switch: Does the LED stay on when you put the remote into the wall bracket?

I think want to modify my Beo 4, too :)

Re: Beo4 with built in light

    Hi all

After disassemple, i removed the foil on the back of the display, to get a better light reflektion.

I made a pice of polycarbonate(plastic) 1mm thick. Paintet it white on the backside, and made 4 square cuts, 2 on eagh side.

Glued in the 4 LED's (0402) and connectet them in 2 parralel connections, with a 330ohm resistor on the positive side. Then soldared the tilt switch to the ground on the pcb(print circuit bord), and the positive to batteri.(4,5 volt)

And it will always turn on when liftet/tiltet up, so it would'nt shut off when mounted in the wallmount. But this could be solved with a ritz-relay (magnetic relay) so when placet in the wallmount it shuts off. Or you could built in a ic555 time relay, så it shuts off after a predefined time.

Unfortunately i did'nt take pictures under the construktion, as i was to focust on getting it done:-)

i will defenently work on it in the next couple of weeks, and then take some pictures:-)

More questions, feel free to ask.

Sorry If the spelling is wrong... Hope you get it anyways.:-)
