    Beo 4 Navigation Button

We had a new BV10 installed this week. Along with that we had the software updated on our BV7-55. Also purchased a new Beo 4 with the navigation button.

On the BV10 if I press menu-options-Beo4 setting I get two options  "Navigation Button" and "No Navigation Button". If I highlight "Navigation Button" and press the center GO button, the highlight drops down to "No Navigation Button" If I press GO with "No Navigation Button" then it says "Settings Stored". I can not store "Navigation Button".

Similarly on the BV7-55,if I do menu-options-remote control, I get "Navigation Button" and "No Navigation Button". If I highlight "Navigation Button" and press GO in an effort to store that option, the highlighted area drops down to "No Navigation Button" just as on the 10, plus at the bottom of the menu  a display lights up that says ""Not Possible". Just as on the 10 I can store a setting for "No Navigation Button".

Any suggestion how to activate the navigation button, or why I am unable to activate it?

    Thanks!

Should have searched here before posting, Beo 4 has to also be in proper mode. Still could not get the navigation button to work with our DVR however.

Take a look into the userguide of the new Beo4 for setting the correct mode:

I can get the navigation to work with the BV 7 and 10 menus but I can not get it to work with connected products such as our DVR. Has anybody else had this problem, or maybe I should ask has anybody been able to getthenavigation button to work with a third party product? If so how did you configure your Beo 4? Thanks!

As far as I heard, the new Beo4 works with new Beo products like BV7, BS3, BV10, DVB HD modul, integrated DVD-/BD players, but doesn`t work with third party  products. The new Beo4 sends different IR commands via navigation buttons (CNTL-10,11,12,13, SELECT) and UP-DOWN-LEFT-RIGHT buttons. To navigate these products you have to use the UP-DOWN-LEFT-RIGHT and PLAY button for GO or SELECT. The navigation doesn`t even work with HDR2 and BS5 (PC mode). See also Lintronic site - Beo4 1710. To make the navigation work with third products you have to update the PUCs for your devices. Current PUCs are vers. 1.X. The new PUCS are vers. 2.X. Not all PUCs will be updated by Beo. So only PUCs for newer will be available in 2.X version.

Thanks. Is there any way to see what version pucs were intalled when the software was updated on the 7-55 last week as well as on the new 10-40 that was delivered and had software done last week?

    Re: Beo 4 Navigation Button

If navigation button doesn`t work for your PUC controled device it should be the "old" version - 1.x. Or ask your dealer....

    Re: Beo 4 Navigation Button

It's like Stefan says. 3rd party devices only works with navigation button if the device is controlled with puc version 2.00

I guess your device is controlled with version 1.00 so it's not supported. What device do you have?

If it's 2.00 the proper mode is 3. In mode 2, the new Beo4 works like the old one.

    Re: Beo 4 Navigation Button

I have a BV10 and BV7-55 that were both updated two weeks ago when the new 10 was delivered. Devices I have tried are Sony BluRay player, Apple TV, Dish DVR, Dish Receiver.

What I am asking is if anybody is actually using the 2.0 pucs and if so do they actually have the navigation button working with 2.0?

    Re: Beo 4 Navigation Button

Yes, it does works at my parents BV10 with 3rd party dish receiver. For example, the use of navigation UP will instantly pop up the OSD of the receiver what's on the next channel. Again Up the next one. Only if you press Go, it will show that channel and the OSD will go away after a few seconds.

If you use the regular UP and Down, it will go to the next or previous channel right away. Just like analog TV. The big plus is you don't have to use Go Up/Down anymore, like with the old Beo4.

    Re: Beo 4 Navigation Button

Thanks! The go up and go down is exactly what I am trying to avoid. I can avoid it with our Beo 5 but my wife likes the Beo 4 better so I would like to get it working for her.
