    Paint Your BeoSound 1 Grill?

I have a BS1 in white which has seen better days on the grill. I am wanting to buy a new one, but not convinced it wouldn't be cooler to paint it a unique color of my own. I have seen a few limited editions which dealers have had painted for them by artists, but I would like to do my own. Any idea's on how I should go about it and what paint type of paint to recommend?

Re: Paint Your BeoSound 1 Grill?

I have done this in the past very successfully but I took the grill to a professional car painter. They really can do miracles and of course make any kind of painting you wish. Actually I'm now discussing with a fellow Beoworlder to buy a Beolab 2000 in order to paint it fully white so that I place it to my son's room. I think it should look great!!

    Best regards

    Hi Spiros,

How do you remove the grill of a Beolab 2000. Can't seem to find a way how to do.

    Has it been double taped?

The grills slide upwards to remove them. I placed a credit card between the bottom of the speaker grill and the plastic of the speaker and wiggled it about, you wll see the grills move up a little and you can then keep sliding them up. Don't use anything that is metal or hard that may damage the grill or the plastic.

Pics of the final product. I first tried a solid color but you could still see the dents and knicks in the front of the grill. I then decided to do a graffiti theme on it since it will go in my garage. All lacquer black, red, silver, spray finishes with some accents of gloss regular black and white. Finished with clear coat. Sorry for the poor pic as I snapped it with my iphone on the way out while it was drying.

That reminds me of Eddie Van Halen's guitar!

I was going for a industrial graffiti look, but I can see a little Eddie in it as well :)

Looks great.  Very individual.  Nothing like a paint job to freshen up anything.  Well done.
