Re: Saw a pic today!! BS8

To my surprise it has no FM radio. So this cannot be regarded as a Beosound 1 successor. Anyway, I also think it looks good at the official pictures. Best looking and possible best souding docksystem.

iPhone / iPad internet radio ???

First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

Probably the nicest looking iPod dock on the market! Hope it sounds as good as it looks...

My friend said after seeing the B&O link:"There are some who say that you can't hear porn, Bang & Olufsen rejects that..."

I believe that would've created a user interface problem. And the iFolks have been saying that FM radio is dead for a long time anyway...

    The B&O app provides NetRadio...

The race for quality has no finish line- so technically, it's more like a death march.

No doubt, FM radio is dead for a long time, but:

    1. Are IPod-docks up-to-date?

    2. Up-to-date is airplay, but the Beosound 8 doesn´t support this new technology!

Come on! Stop, please: BS8 is just a docking station for the iPod/iPhone/iPad and only has sense together an iPod/iPhone/iPad (and a Pc or MAC), so part of the actual and future featrures depends and will depend on the source, I mean iPod/iPhone/iPad... Can the BS8 make me the morning coffee?? Maybe in the near future with an eventual iCoffee App Stick out tongue If so, I guess this coffee will taste and SOUND really nice...

Not only my opinion about missing airplay: p.e. http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/p/36267/300824.aspx#300824 (from Jasper050).

Of course, Räuber, and it's nothing personal Wink The thing is that sometimes all this discussions about the features that have, have to and must have a product, become a little boring.

Each equipment has featrures that respond to some needs, but the perfect product doesn't exist, understanding perfect as a product with all the features that we can imagine. In the case of the BS8 we can expect an iPod dock with a superb sound, accurate desing and B&O magic, all that we wanted add it's pure fantasy Stick out tongue

It's all about B&O, and we all know the brand and its politics, so...

Have to agree here... if B&O were to introduce a product that would be well received on this forum without anybody bitching about missing this and that, it would probably arrive in a 40 ft ocean container under its own propulsion and cost at most 99 euros. And still somebody would say that the Avant sure had a better picture.

Re: Saw a pic today!! BS8

I can't help thinking it looks like some sort of 50's or 60's kitchen appliance! - perhaps it's those little feet at the back!!Huh?

It would have been nice for B&O to "reclaim" the scroll wheel with a really nice tactile execution

Not sure how it would fit in with your "full system" but, as it can accept USB audio it therefore has a DAC, maybe an Analog audio out might have been good so that it could be plumbed into your full system too - just a thought.

Am I right in thinking that, in conjunction with an AE and the ipod "Remote" app, I could have full iTunes control with iTunes audio via the BS8 (assuming the iPod isn't insitu at the time)?

Generally speaking, you aren't learning much if your lips are moving.
