    Finally!!

Have been eagerly looking for a pair of S45-2 and a good receiver to go with.

Earlier today I completed that wish and got the S45-2 with a beomaster 4500 - can't wait for them to arrive and test them.

I hope they wont disappoint me...have certainly a lot of expectations from these new (for me) toys...excited!!

Thanks again to all who helped in making up my mind. Please do comment on how this beomaster and beovox would sound.

Just a word of caution.  If your S45-2's are being shipped to you, a common problem is that the coils in the 8" bass drivers 'lock' and consequently won't work.  This has happened to me and many others.  If the coils are locked, the only option is to replace the units.  I hope yours arrive OK.

They are great sounding small speakers.  Enjoy your new toys.

    Dave.

Am I ready? I was born ready!

Any advise on how to prevent this. Any specific way of packing it?

Not really, it would involve the seller opening the speakers & applying a bead of epoxy resin around the magnet assemblies where they are stuck to the frame of the drivers. It is the magnets becoming detached & moving to one side & trapping the coils which causes this.

The use of metaphors should be avoided like the plague. They're like a red rag to a bull to me.
