    Beogram 4004 DIN pins

Hi folks would it be possible for someone to take a piccy of the removable DIN pins as I would like to have a go at making some. I mainly want to get an idea of the thread as this is going to be the hardest part to get right! Otherwise I will have to consider removing the old plug / lead which I don't want to do!

Also are there manuals for both the 2400 and 2400-2 in the archives? I would like to see if it is possible to make a homegrown upgrade to my bog standard 2400 for my Beogram :).

    Thanks,

    Olly.

yes Martin, two to be exact :) Do you have any?

What do you think to converting the 2400 to control the 4004? I might even dust off my pic programmer if that could possibly make things more compact and easier to do!

Martin I have just pm'd joeyboygolf but maybe he would like to know if you have lots made up or a decent stock...?

TBH I wouldn't have thought anyone would have these spare so I am pleasently surprised with the offers!

If he has some, then fine.
If not, I'll take a look.

Make sure that there actually is a threading in the plug.
It's my experience that only a few BG4004 had the threaded pins, most had a
standard 7-pin plug with no removeable pins (and the outer pins broken off).

    Re: Beogram 4004 DIN pins

I can't see any point in bothering to retrofit the Beogram control into a 2400. It's just start, stop and pause anyway.

The service manual on site seems to cover both 2400 and 2400-2, but after a quick glance over it it doesn't say a word about the Beogram control. The ultrasonic receiver and control schematic is there though. And the Beogram 4004 service manual is rather vague on the subject too, as well as being almost illegible.

Of course you could construct any control stuff into the Beomaster starting from your own ideas, but see paragraph 1...

Interesting about the pins Martin. I am 90% sure these are sockets as they look like tiny brass collars with a hole in.

@ tournedos I would just like to see it work tbh. Bearing in mind this is the most advanced B&O I personally own, so it will be quite a leap forward Wink!

I actually have the diagram for the 4004 which came with the deck so that side is not a problem.

Mine has threaded pins but more than that I can't comment. This is the first 4004 that I have had.

    Re: Beogram 4004 DIN pins

Just wanted to say the pins arrived Graham and have been screwed straight into the DIN plug without issues - thank you :) Just ordered a 7 pin DIN socket for the beomaster and ready to work somthing out. Will be crude and simple but will do the job hopefully!

    Will update if anyone interested..

    Thanks again,

    Olly.
