Beogram 1500 wanted (the one with an amp!)

Just lost an ebay auction for one and now I want it even more.

Looking for a Beogram 1500 - the early BG1000 based model with an integrated amplifier (Type 5208).

Really any condition - broken, missing parts, whatever!

Could offer swapping it for a fully refurbished Beocenter 1800...

    Hi Chris,

if that was the one that finished last night - it was me.  Sorry but I wanted one too!  I haven't seen many of these 1500's for sale and couldn't resist.  I hope you find another soon.

Well, that's what eBay is all about. Stick out tongue

Good luck fixing it! I'm pretty sure the motor will need an overhaul.

It sure is.  I'm used to being beaten to the prize many a time in the past on eBay.  I've paid for it (why don't German sellers take Paypal? - which I thought was against eBay rules) by bank transfer and wait in anticipation.  I'm sure it will need some work.  I may use it with my soon to be restored Beolab/Beomaster 5000 system as it was meant to be.  Though I've just also bought a Thorens TD160 (can't afford a 124/Beogram 3000) which was also going to be for the same purpose.  Too much equipment and not enough space.

    Regards,

    Dave.

If I remember correctly, they forced them to allow auctions without Paypal over here. Paypal is not too popular in Germay…

I'm fairly sure the BG 1500 wasn't meant to be used with a Beolab 5000 - why would you need to connect two amps in a row?

I presume the amp is more of a pre-amp but if you read the product info on the Beogram 1500, it does pair it with the Beolab 5000 tuner.  I'll know more when it gets here.

The amplifier is a real one. You can attach speakers directly to the Beogram 1500 but I seem to
remember that you can also take out a standard Phono signal (before the amplifier).
