Thinking of flipping BV5 for...
a BV 10 40"!
There, I said it. Me the BV 10, sound performance hater...
Looking at Loewe as an option, it just dawned on me, that no, I might just do the wrong move here...
Is it reasonable? Is the BV 10 really that good?
You may convince me in words and pictures!

Re: Thinking of flipping BV5 for...
Hi Andreas,
I have a BV5 and not the BV10 so can't comment from personal experience. I nearly bought a BV10 for another room but then realised reading between the lines on other posts that Peter had actually traded his new BV10 in for a secondhand BV5 (and that the sound system perhaps wasn't up to the job even with other speakers added if I recall correctly.)
It's all a matter of opinion of course and no one is going to directly rubbish the BV10 after spending so much on it.
My personal view now would be to try to get a dealer to give you a home demonstration of the BV10 (and don't dispose of the BV5 until you are really convinced that the BV10 gives you something extra.)
Of course you'll get HD with the BV10, but in direct comparison with the BV5 I doubt that you would see any difference at normal viewing distances in a typical living room situation (unless you like sitting right up against the screen!)

Re: Thinking of flipping BV5 for...
Have had both - have sold the BV10 as it was too expensive in retrospect. I couldn't live with the sound after having an Avant. I exchanged it for a BV5 - the picture on the BV10 was better - by quite a margin on HD sources - and much the same on SD. The sound on the BV5 is a lot better.

Re: Thinking of flipping BV5 for...
Hi Andreas ,
I had a demonstration of a Beovision 10-40 when it was introduced here in Holland. I love the design and the picture quality. Can't comment on the sound. The Beovision I saw was part of a surround setup with 4 Beolab 6000's and a Beolab 2. Maybe the dealer wanted to hide the fact that the sound quality is a little thin on the Beovision 10...

Re: Thinking of flipping BV5 for...
I used mine with Pentas and a BL2. I had plenty of bass - it is the presence band that seems absent. Very detailed sound so it is clearly a matter of taste - I would have a good listen first. At the demo of the BV10 it sounded fine.

Re: Thinking of flipping BV5 for...
Hi guys,
Thanks for the inputs sofar! It's not easy to get rid of the BV5... I would love to keep it, but in a small flat, it's too big for a second TV set....
Why this is on now, is that the water lines in our apartment building are being renovated, and the place is a mess, so moving out the BV5 now would be easy, compared to when we move back in in december.
But I will need to sell the BV5 first. Can't get stuck with it. If I only had a big house!

Re: Thinking of flipping BV5 for...
Hi Bayerish,
I flipped my Avant Silver 28" CTV for a new BV10 46", including the vertical motorized stand and the Beo5.
I made the order this WE and should received it in 3 weeks.
You won't be disappointed if you accept the fact that's what coming out of the BV10 46 in term of sounding is just average/acceptable.
Cheers,

Sounds promising GuyHui!
Is there a HDR option on the Beovision 10?

Re: Thinking of flipping BV5 for...
OK, the BV10 is ordered!
Looking forward to it. Now I need to find out what BR player to buy. Any ideas? Has to be controllable by the BV10.

Thanks man!
Too bad the renovation is still on at our apartment, so I won't get to enjoy it before december.
