    Sellers who have second thoughts

Two weeks ago I thought I'de got a bit of a bargain here. Paid straight away, but then heard nothing for two weeks despite prompts vis eBay. Complained to eBay who said they'd pursue it and to give them 10 days. Next thing is that I get a refund and eBay tells me the case is closed. Message from the seller (an Anthony Quinn in Staffordshire) is that he's been in hospital, very sorry, has made a refund and will list it again.  Mr Quinns feedback, however, shows that was somehow making at least one eBay purchase himself whilst allegedly in hospital! And what kind of logic is this anyway...... he just had to send the item.

eBay now don't seem to want to know other than giving me a procedure for reporting the seller............ except that the procedure doesn't actually work on the eBay site because the quoted options don't exist!

Just be careful if you buy from this person (who originally had several B&O items with an intention of listing more) because I suspect that if he doesn't think your winning bid is high enough he considers it fair to just give you a refund and to relist the item at a later date!

Re: Sellers who have second thoughts

Ebay is a sellers market and the Ebay owners want to keep it that way. For me its kind of lottery buying there, I have to ship my bought items to McAllen TX, shipping to Mexico city will be to expensive and insecure, so I cant check my items right after delivery, by the time I get there to pic them up its to late to complain. When you check the sellers reputations they allways have some 97-100% positive feedback, if you check the time of feedback for your bought items, you normaly will se that the seller left feedback after the time you did. If you leave a bad feedback, they will do the same to you.

Its maybe time that we make our own list of bad sellers here on Beoworld, the sellers are avare of Beoworld, they steel our manuals and use our archives as a referendum. At the moment there is a CD with our manuals for sale, I did not check all of it but the ones missing is the same that we are missing.

And I hate these motherf---- that sells BGs without cartridge, you would'nt sell a car without wheels.

    Time for a BLACKLIST ??

I don't agree at all. eBay is a buyer's market. Sellers cannot leave negative feedback and buyers seem to be able to claim something is broken, get a refund and keep the item. I only buy and have only had one bad experience (if you don't count the fact that relatively little B&O actually works when it arrives - I always expect this and bid accordingly!!)

The person who is selling our manuals is a crook in my view. I now protect all manuals so they cannot be altered or printed out - too late for many though.

I may have to reconsidder, but at the moment I'm nervus about my items I still have to pick up in McAllen and that has some influence on my opinion. ErmHmmIck!

Totally agree with you Peter. Infact after last night I don't think I am ever going to sell anything on Ebay again. Sold a pair of tweeters, posted them out well wrapped. Day after posting I get a message from the buyer. Saying that they had been poorly packaged and the buuble wrap had marked them. They were therefore no good. He wanted a refund and, if I wanted them back I would have to pay postage. wel we all now where this would have ended up. If it went to a dispute. So I sent a rerfund. Every time I send an item know, I just wonder how it's all going to go wrong, and how I ma going to loose out.Super Angry

This thread has gone a bit off-topic wrt the original post............... but maybe not too many sellers give refunds so they can list again!

Wrt the selling of manuals......... they must all be in copyright so why doesn't Beoworld come to an arrangement with B&O to have an exclusive licence to republish the out-of-print manuals (and sell them to non-gold members)? This would enable Beoworld to close down all the eBay illegal trading of manuals copied from this site or anywhere else for that matter.

I doubt B&O would agree to this as it would essentially mean giving BeoWorld a large present. We are an independent site. I would be not too surprised if they said that we were breaking copyright rules and should stop hosting the manuals. We are not whiter than white anyway - some of the manuals come from the old Beoworld and their provenance is not all I would want it to be!
