    Beogram 6500 questions

My Beogram 6500 plays good through the Beosund 9000 MKII.

    I do have some questions.

Should the transport screws be totally removed?

How do I raise the platter?

The screws are now very loose but it sounds like the record hits something during playback or just on the turn function.

No - you can't completely remove them.  They should be dangling however - completely loose.  Just keep turning all three screws counter-clockwise.  This will have the effect of raising the platter since it lets the suspension springs 'take over'.   If the record is scraping the deck either the record is warped or you'll need to make further adjustment to the turntable.

The records tested are okay and new 180 grams in some cases.

They also sound great on my Beogram 8002.

3 screws? I only notice 2 and they are at this point very loose but there.

I will have a look for the last one when I get home.
