    Beosound5/Beomaster5

Hi, I am new to this forum.

I have the Beosound5/Beomaster5 system and it has been inoperable for several months now, ever since B&O pushed the software update onto the system.  I sent an email to B&O several months ago and was told that they are aware of the problem and are working on it.  I sent another email several weeks ago and never got a reply.  Does anyone know of a work around to get the system running again?  It is ridiculous that I have spent several thousand dollars on a B&O stereo, which does not work at all.

Any help is very much appreciated.

Just bring the BM5 to the shop where you bought it from and they should swap it for a new one.

Yeah, as a dealer myself, this almost doesn't ring true. I know that there are some sub-par shops out there but if you've contacted the dealer where you bought it and they've let it go for this long it's completely unacceptable.

Rather than you bringing it in, though, the BeoMaster qualifies for in-home service as part of the warranty so a technician can simply visit your home and make any needed repairs. I can tell you that at this point there is no issue outstanding on these products that would leave them inoperable.

There is scarcely anything in this world that some man cannot make a little worse and sell a little more cheaply. The person who buys on price alone is this man's lawful prey. - John Ruskin

    Re: Beosound5/Beomaster5

I bought it at the B&O store in Houston, which was closed a few months ago.

I received the following emails from B&O:

    7/27/2010

we are pleased to see are the owner of Beosound5, but we are sorry that you experience problems with the speakers after the latest software update.  We are aware of this fault, and we are at present working hard on a solution.  We shall return to you when the problem has been solved.

    8/16/2010

I am sorry for this matter, and that we have not given you a feedback unitl now.  I have now received information that there will very soon be a software update which solves this problem.  Your product will automatically be updated as soon as the software is released.

to this date the system is still not working!!!

    Re: Beosound5/Beomaster5

I am excited and reliefed to report that my Beo5 is working again.

I unplugged everything and after reconnecting everything, the display came back on and showed the Windows start up screen.  Once the unit was done booting, I immediately downloaded the latest software update.  The Beolab 3500 is displaying the time again, whereas before it was only displaying two dots.

It has been several months, but it seems to be working again...

I want to thank everyone, who has emailed me and offered assistance.  Cheers.
