    Configuration lost

    Hello....

I am writing this message hoping someone can help me, because it seems a disaster has happened to me.....

I have had a Pc crash and many data were lost. My Beo5 configuration folder, has broken and it was possible to get back only few frammentary parts of file......

I have bought a new hard disk and now i have an 'empty' Pc.

Is it possible to 'download' from Beo5 to Pc the installed configuration?..... I worked hard about this from many months! I was able to control everything in my house from my Beo5, so, now it is very very hard to begin from zero again.....

Nobody knows a way to help me?....

Where is the configuration stored in Beo5? Is there a way to 'extract' it?

    Re: Configuration lost

I'm sad to say that there is no way to extract the code from a Beo5 and turn it into code for the Configuration Tool. The code downloaded into the Beo5 is serialized, as you must have seen several times, before you lost your configuration.

    This process is not reversible.

There is a proverb which says: Real men do not backup - they cry!

    ..........i suspected.....

I have some parts of the configuration filer i have got back after Pc crash.

In 'Beo5 configuration tool' folder, where can i find the configuration files to store into Beo5?

When the software start, it loads something about the configuration....... what?

    Re: Configuration lost

As stated your configuration is not reversible from your Beo5

The configuration is held in a configuration file called "Configuration.xml" and is located in directory:-

    C:\Bang & Olufsen\Beo5 Configuration Tool\Clients\SERIALNUMBER\Configuration.xml

Where SERIALNUMBER is the serial number of your Beo5 and is 8 digits long.
