BM8000 crackling sound in one channel

    Hi all,

My beomaster 8000 has started making crackling noises in the left channel. Swapped speakers, I am sure it is in the amplifier. Volume control has no effect so I guess the problem is in the power amp? It has all new capacitors except for the 4 big 10000uF cans in the power supply.

The crackling gets worse as the amp warms up.

Any suggestions what the problem might be?

    Thanks!Smile

Cracked solder joints at the driver transistors.
Cracked solder joints between the processor and display modules.
Cracked solder joints at connectors related to the signal path.
A noisy transistor or opamp in the signal path.
    - Pretty much in that order.

If you can swap the signal leads/plugs from the left/right amplifier modules, that will
tell you if the problem lies within one amplifier module or the preamp etc.
