    beolab 4000 and ipod

Hi there, is it possible to connect an ipod directly to a pair of beolab 4000's or is a pre amp needed? I am not yet sure if the beolabs are the Mk1 or Mk2 as I am still debating whether or not to purchase them. Thanks Steve.

    Hi Steve,

The Beolab 4000 has a line in so yes it's possible and easy. There is a switch near the connection that you set to 'Line', and you'll need to connect both speakers via a powerlink cable. Plug your ipod in to the Line In connection and use the volume control on your ipod.

    Steve,

I have used the same setup, and it works well with just a line to 2xphono cable. No need for anything else than that. Most such cables allows you to separate the two channel in the cable by pulling them apart as if you unzip them. This way you can place to speakers with the desired distance between them.
