    Projector Recommendation

    Hi Beoworlders,

I am thinking about adding a projector and an electrical screen to my set-up (bv 10+beo5+bl3+samsung br+appleTV).

    Any projector recommendation/advice?

    Thank you

    Re: Projector Recommendation

I have a Jvc DLA-HD 1,A great projector! Have a look at the new models that they have, all have great reviews.

    I used mine on a Bv7-40 mk 3 now have 7-55.

You can now get some projectors that do 3D if your after that! Projection is a good way for 3D,as nice big screen sizes,so would get the effect unlike from a tv.

Look around,as you can get projector/screen deals.

    Hope this helps.

    Bv7-55 & Bv7-32...Blue,lab1's x4,Yes4Blue, 6000x4Blue,Beocom6000 Blue,Beo5.Oh what a Blue set-up & a Beosound 5...After all,its Bang&Olufsen!

If i may ask, do you use an HDMI cable to connect BV7 to the projector? Because i think the projector out of BV7 is VGA. Could you please clarify because i am interested on the issue.

DrDimitris....On the Bv-7-40 Mk3 which is full 1080p, I used the Projector Dvi out socket but needed to attach a Hdmi to Dvi adaptor to use my 15m Hdmi cable. You could always use a Hdmi to Dvi lead (Hdmi on one end Dvi on the other to the tv) If you have a 7-40 with a Dvi socket but I wanted to use my Qed cable so used the converter plug.

My bedroom Bv7-32 has a Vga port not a Dvi fitted.

The Bv7-40 Mk3 and the Bv7-55 both have a Dvi connection.

    The Bv7-40 tv's from the Mk3 onwards is a full 1080p tv.

    Hope this helps.

I have a Sim 2 connected to a BeoSystem 3 in the living room and a Runco connected to the Avant in the bedroom for enjoying movies while in the jacuzzi with champagne and company. Ideal for date nights.

I am familiar on this and thank you for the answer. What i ask is i thought you switch to prozector by pressing FORMAT, 0 on BEO4 to activate the projector port. With your setup is different i think. How do you switch to projector mode?

Thank you. I thought FORMAT...0 could only activate the VGA port.  Now let'w continue with reccomendations on Beofab's question. I am also curious on what other projectors Beoworlders use.

We use a Barco 1208/2 , resolution 1600x1200p which is incredible

they are large though and weigh more than 80kgs so youll need a can of redbull before you can lift it above your head to ceiling mount it

If you can ever find one (and beat me to it) the Barco 909 is the top of the line with a max resolution of 3200x2560p

9 inch crt tubes with around 20,000 hour tube life

all easily run hd via a HDFURY 3

    Re: Projector Recommendation

Hi Beofab, I have the Epson EH-TW5500 and I'm very satisfied with it (great value for money).

You may want to check: http://www.projectorreviews.com/ to learn more on different types and options.

Concerning the size of the screen I have chosen for a 106 inch screen (in a 50 m² living room).

If you have the space don't go for a small screen - IMHO it's simply size which makes the difference and no television comes even close.

    BC2 DAB, Lab 1, Lab Penta, beo4, beocord 1101.
