Beolab 8000's with a Sony TV?

Don't shout at me, this is a question from a friend of mine who wants to buy one of these TV's but wants to know if they can connect it to their Beolab 8000 speakers?  I know there are some problems with loud volume depending on the TV's outputs but I'm hoping a techie can tell me.  The TV is: a Sony 46HX703

    Many thanks in advance.

    Dave.

Re: Beolab 8000's with a Sony TV?

I'm not familiar with this TV, but I did look through the specs on the website.  I do not see any "analog audio output" listed.  There is digital out, and headphones, and a whole bunch of "inputs".

One could get a mini-jack-to-RCA cable and connect from the headphone jack to the BL8000 line in.  This would allow volume control via the TV.  The downside is that headphone jacks often have only fair to bad circuitry so the sound quality *might* be less then optimal.

    Thanks Stan,

a B&O engineer has been round to repair the AV9000 TV associated to these speakers.  He had a good discussion with the owner and says that the Beolabs should work fine with the SONY.  As he fixed the AV9000 it's a bit academic now but in the future they will still consider the SONY.  I suggested looking at AV Lifestyle as they have some good deals on TV's which are obviously better suited to the 2 pairs of Beolab 8000's they have.  It's their choice and money in the end though.
