    PUC list compatibility

    Hi all,

tomorrow my dealer (who is 300km away) will perform a software update on my BV7-32. I asked him to update my PUC list, in order to have the new HD receiver working with BEO4. Our provider here in Greece has selected the PACE HD 831 receiver and you cannot use any other one. So in the PUC list we have here in Beoworld i saw 20 PACE PUC codes, but noone is the HD 831.

Does someone here uses in his country PACE HD831 and if yes which PUC code is compatible with it? Hopefully someone knows...Smile

    Re: PUC list compatibility

I have no Pace receiver, and I`m not living in Greece, but afaik, you can have max. 25 PUCs in your BV. So I recommend to create a list of PUCs you might want to try and let the dealer update your BV with these PUCs. This can be helpful even if you change your receiver. If you have the PUCs installed in your BV, you can try, which one is working best.

BTW Many providers say that you need to use THEIR box, because other boxes won`t work, which in many cases is not true..., they just want to sell boxes...

Thank you Stefan for your reply. I am afraid this is not the case. They <<marry>> the card to the receiver. So far no other receiver has been able to accept the card.

So it seems it will be a try and error case. I will load all 20 PACE PUC's and test if anyone is compatible with HD 831. Maybe we will get lucky...

    Re: PUC list compatibility

If you have the facilities to capture one command from your original remote for the HD 831, then I could determine if any of the PUC library entries are compatible with it.

The following Pace STB's are in the PUC Library:-

    AUSTRALIA
    DS230
    DS420
    DS460NV
    DTVA-UK
    ntl4000
    ntl4001
    PUMA
    SKY
    CubePac1
    DS230
    DS420
    DS460NV
    NZ-DS230NNZ
    NZ-TD850NZZ
    SkyPLUS
    TDS850NV-ViaSat
    ViasatDN250
    TWINDIGITAL

    Regards Keith....

If you have a Lintronic box or a similar device for capturing infrared codes, then you could post or send the timings in a text file

I am afraid i haven't. If you find anything in some of your sources about the specific one codes i will be more than happy. Thanks for your time anyway! Smile

Update: The PUK list of my BV is now updated but none of the existing PACE receivers matches the one i have (PACE HD831). The dealer promised me that he will email headquarters in order to include it in future. Hmmm let's see. I also keep my fingers crossed for Keith. Maybe he will find the compatible codes someday. I'm afraid that without the HD431 and the original remote being in Struer, it's not gonna happen..

How long will it take to get back the remote??

    What are the cost??

    Re: PUC list compatibility

    Dimitris,

This may not help (!) but the nearest box listed on the Lintronic site is the Pace 830 HD (no mention of the 831.) This Lintronic list shows the various boxes using the same codeset as the Pace 830. Might be worth trying if any are in the B&O PUC library but there will still be the probability of completely different actions from the same codes for the non-Pace boxes!

(In the absence of B&O adding it to the PUC list you could always ask Lintronic if they are going to add the Pace 831 to their system (and whether they can confirm what codeset it shares or if it will be unique.)) (Does the Lintronic Pace 830 data help you to draw any conclusions Keith (assuming the 831 to be similar (a big assumption!))?????????

    Re: PUC list compatibility

The Pace DS830NS HD uses XMP1 protocol which stands for "eXtensible Multimedia Protocol". There is also an XMP2, XMP4 and XMP 32

This is a very common protocol because it is also used for things like wireless keyboards etc.

There is no way of knowing if it is used on the 831 without actually testing it by capturing at least one command from the original remote.

Either way you have apparently already tried all the Pace PUC entries, so we can assume that even if one did use the XMP1 protocol it is almost certainly going to have a different device code, so it still would not work.

    Regards Keith....

    Re: PUC list compatibility

Thank you so much for your contributions. I will email Lintronic, maybe they can provide me some info. Pace HD 831 is relatively new and was constructed from PACE directly for the requirements of the Greek provider. But i was not thinking that the IR codes would differ from Pace to Pace receiver .
