    Beocord 3300 Help needed

    Hello Everyone!

I purchased a pre-owned Beosystem 3300 System (Reciever, CD player, cassette deck, turntable, and 2-RL60 speakers) last year from the original owner in "mint" condition (he still had the original packaging and boxes).

This system looks and sounds great! (People are amazed that it's almost 25-years old!).

My problem is: When I intially plugged in the turntable I couldn't get any sound when playing a record (all other components work fine), I checked the cartridge (MMC5 I believe) and it appeared to be okay.   I decided to check all connections again and found that when I turn the volume on the reciever to about 80% I can hear very faint playback from the turntable and when I touch the DIN cable (from the turntable to the reciever) it's as though I'm tapping a microphone (the "tapping" can be heard loudly through the speakers).

Any help in solving this problem will be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,

Congratulations on your new system and welcome to Beoworld Smile

Sounds like you have a bad connection inside DIN plug, possibly the ground connection. Could be in the receiver socket as well, but start with the easy things and take a look inside the plug.

Don't keep the volume that high when troubleshooting, you might damage your speakers.

    Thanks Mika,

I'll check the DIN plug tonight.
