    BeoCenter 6 and Mac Mini

    Hi,

    I have a BeoCentre 6 and a mac mini.

Is there an easy way to control Front Page on the mac with the B&O Remote?

I have noticed Beoport being mentioned, but what is it and how does it work?

I do not have access to a pc.

    Thanks, Andrew.

BeoPort is a box sold by B&O which acts as a bridge between B&O and your computer. Connecting an IR Eye to it allows it to interpret the commands from your Beo4 remote, and the software from Anders called 'BM-Link' now supports the ability to control Front Row through the device.

Never tried it myself, but the response seems very positive!

Ok, thanks for that. By box do you mean PC or is it just a small unit? I cannot find any word of it on the B&O Website. But may be looking in the wrong place.

It's a very compact box, think something like a large box of chocolates (mmm) or a small shoe box.

    See the Tecnical Specifications at:

As Alex said, the solution with BM-Link works just fine.

You might also want to look into IRTrans/iRred with the Beo4VRC. Gives you full control of a series of app's.

Hi soundproof, you are right. Since may this year I use beo4vrc to control

    • MediaCentral
    • EyeTV
    • Front Row
    • iTunes and
    • iPhoto

and it works great. I have installed two irtrans modules, one in the main room, the other in the sleeping room.
In this way I control the mac from both, the main and sleeping room. The mac is connected to a beovision 6.

In the main room I use the PC option and in the sleeping room I use the V.Tape option of my beo4 remote control
to listen to music and watch video placed on my mac.

    Greetings

for the beoport, as far as i know the bm link solution does not support fastt scrolling which may be a bit of a problem depending how much content you have.

IRTrans/Ired don't either, hoever you can workaround a bit.
