I can't think of any particular time I completely footed... but did witness a brilliant one!

Over at the aunt's with cousins wandering about enjoying a nice summer afternoon.

Elder neighbor (EN) pops over who always had horrid eyesight.

Car arrives full of more expected cousins.

(EN) yells out: "My god Chucky -have you gotten fat"! (right in front of everyone)

...wasn't Chucky. It was Chucky's sister-in-law, Ann. She got back in the car and was driven home.

Re: Do you have Foot in Mouth disease .............this Wednesday©?

Once, when i was younger - i was out with a group of friends in a crowded bar.  We'd all have a few pints and were on the prowl checking out the ladies when the singularly ugliest, worst dressed and (shall we say) largest girl in the club approached one of the guys with us and said a few words to him.  He smiled politely, said a few words back (i assumed to the tune of 'no thanks love' or something similar) - then thankfully off she wandered, looking quite offended.

To break the ice, i said to him "phew - got rid of THAT one nicely mate.. what a horror! You'd put a picture of her in your garden to keep the cats away" and started laughing.

To which he replied 'err, that's my sister'

To which i thought he was joking - but he wasn't.  He called her back over to confirm her relationship to him (thankfully without my description) and then proceeded to tell me that she'd come over to ask to borrow some money from him, to which he'd said 'get lost' - hence the offended look.

I really don't think i've ever felt like taking off my shoe and placing it squarely in my mouth like that again..  In my own defence though, she did look like a zoo animal with a dress on.

Talking of "foot in mouth" syndrome - I was telling a work colleague a week or so ago about how short a particular component was, and described it as "as short as Billy F***wit's trousers" (a chap renowned for his trousers flapping above his ankles - although he has remained oblivious for many years)..................... guess who was standing behind me at the time!!!EmbarrassedEmbarrassedEmbarrassed

Just watching a news item about facebook. They are saying that individuals are putting too much onto the web. Employers routinely now check facebook before interviewing people. They say that people will have to change their names in the future to escape what they've posted!
