    Link Room Audio

    Hello All

I have an Apple TV connected to my BV7 with the latest software.

I read in the software thread that after the new version we would be able to access audio from HDMI sources without having to connect the AV leads and SKY for example with the Scart lead.

Did this ever happen as when i am in a link room and press Vmem i get sound only if i have the AV leads connected aswell

This gives me an echo which i will fix when my DST module is updated as its the only part of the last build that was not updated for some reason.

Am i correct in thinking that i should now be able to have the devices connected with just HDMI and access there sound in link rooms?

    Maybe Link Vmem or something?

this page talks alot about it http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/t/31193.aspx?PageIndex=3

    Hi Seanie

What happens if you press AV Vmem?

That should do the trick, at least it does for my mini connected with DVI and S/P diff

    Hello All

Just an update to this thread.

Since having my DSM module updated i can now listen to sound in my link room for HDMI devices that are connected by HDMI only.

The sound has no delay as i assume its using the sound from HDMI and converting back to analogue and down the ML cable.

This is excellent news and means no longer do i need loads of extra cables connected.

    Re: Link Room Audio

Does this post indicate B&O have solved their HDMI link delay issue?  We have a BV10 and listening to any HDMI source over the link gives a delay which our Dealer (Bath) have pretty much said is a 'feature' of the system and nothing can be done.

Very unimpressed as the B&O CRT set-up it replaced as perfect!

    Re: Link Room Audio

It has indeed for me fixed the delay issue over ML.

Make sure you have the latest software for DSM module and a hardware DSM version above 1.5 i believe without the document in front of me.

( i will clarify in an hour when i get home)

In the customer service menu there is an option called ML delay and that fixes the problem and i no longer need anologue cables connected for sound, i can also get sound from SKY HD which i coudl not before as it was only connected via HDMI.

I believe the sound in link rooms is now the digital sound sent over the ML rather than the Anologue sound over ML.

    p.s

Please be aware my experiance is only via link room audio and not video, but i believe that was fixed also by using AV command.

If you need a copy of the requirements for the ML delay option to appear let me know.

    Re: Link Room Audio

mmm the document i have says its valid for:

    BV9

    BS3

    BV7

it says software build needs to be above 632

DSM module hardware version 2.0 or 2.5

and you have the option to select dsm in the sound menu.

    Nothing listed about BV10.

These documents are avail to dealers so i reccomend you tell your dealer rather than fobbnig you off you tell him to investigate it further.

    Hello,

I have recently connected Apple TV to my BV8-40 and my dealer told me i cant get neither Video nor Audio in the link rooms as the new Apple TV is digital and no way of converting to analogue. Can any of you learned friends confirm if this is the case before i investigate further? The TV has had a software update recently with the B&O logo showing instead ofthe ugly clcok..

I have 2 other Link rooms and i can get SKY, DVD etc audi and video but i guess because of the scart connection to AV behind the sky box.

    thanks

    J

    Hello jolabari,

    I think this should work:

    http://www.normwandler.de/Downloads/Brochure/CM-388.pdf

So you can connect the new Apple TV to your BV8-40 not only by HDMI, but also analogue. So you can use audio and video from ATV also in link rooms.

    Regards

Thanks for your response Rauber, guess im not looking to add another device as i had to install an Atlona switcher to provide extra HDMI ports to the BV8-40:-)

Does anyone know of any other workaround that can be used to get Apple TV to Audio/Video  signals to link rooms?

    thanks
