    MX3500 dead?

    Just bought an MX3500 from 1989 :-)

But I can´t get it to start :(

The red diod is on... And if I push the powerbutton it´s turns to green just for a second then it´s red again!

    Any known problem?

If the standby light is on and then goes green for a short time then back to red means the power supply protection circuit has almost certainly been triggered.

This will occur for any number of reasons, but more often than not you have a short circuit component which is causing to much current to be drawn from the power supply and so being shut down to protect teh rest of the TV.

The action of shipping the MX3500 could also had caused something to be disconnect or shorted.

    Regards Keith....

Try AV-RADIO with a BeoLink 1000 and check if the TV starts up. If not, one or more components in the power supply might be broken. If the LED turns green without switching on the screen (what should be the case with the command AV-RADIO) the powersupply seems to be OK and the problem is somewhere else in the electronics.

It reminds me of my AV9000.

It was dead when I got it. The B&O store fixed it and it worked well for a few days.

I then found a video I had not seen for a long time so I put the tape in and pushed play. Nothing!

Just the same thing red, green, red.

Back to the store and they fixed it. Its been working great since then.

It's a minor thing that is easy to fix if you know what to do.

Thanks... I will let the TV rest for a day then I will try again! Hoping it was the car ride home that crashed it :-)
