    Pentavox update on Beocentral

Every now and then I visit Beocentral just to see what's new or updated. There's a 2nd August entry on Beovox Penta, and since I have a pair I wanted to see what changed. Not much it seems, except for this passage:

"The Penta loudspeaker required very few changes to be sold in Beovox form. Screw binding posts for the cables were already fitted to the base in the Beolab version, so all that was needed was to shorten the mounting studs and fit the stands directly to the bottom of the cabinet. Larger front frets were also fitted to cover the hole left by the now absent display unit. "

Huh? Confused Did they really do that at some time, or am I hallucinating when I look at the regular Penta display windows on my original type 6611 Pentavoxes?

I noticed this recent update too Mika. Thing is that the old Pentavox article said the same thing, so not sure if this update was a slight re-write.

FWIW my Pentavoxes have the display too!

Beocentral is an awesome website. Very good information there, however, it's not always correct about everything.

Oh - I didn't remember reading this before, so I thought the text had been just modified this way. If it is a regular error, then fine Smile

Mine even have the cabling between the display PCB and the DIN socket in the bottom (included, just covered with a blind plug). I also think they would look most odd with a full length fret!

I guess Tim must be reading this. The Beocentral page was updated again on the 14th and the sentence about the larger frets is no longer there!

Would be funny if he didn't Laughing

Oh well, just realized they would've of course had a feedback form over there as well...
