    More Beo-inspired design

Just saw this. It seems reminiscent of Beo design...

Hmm -that is NOT just a coincidence -it is obvious that the socalled "designer" is more than just inspired by BS 5. It's just a copycat. No - thumbs down

Many have copied B&O design through the years...I have a wireless doorbell where the main unit looks like a  mini Beovox 5000.
It is actually placed between my Beolab 5000's Big Smile

But, seriously -it is not ok to just copy a soundsystem or a television -or a car (as some chinese manufacturers have done). Super Angry

Maybe they should call it a 'Sam-Sound' AngryLaughing

But, then again...That was to be expected after B&O's adventure with Samsung phones/MP3 players.

At least Samsung could place a "Bang&Olufsen" logo on it -like the "Samsung" logo on the Serene/Serenata Wink

well you can see the similarity, but, it's different, and this one looks terrible. Can you imagine seeing this standing proud in someones lovely house? ...YUCK!

This is actually a proof of having a good design. Good design is copied, whether you like it or not! So for a designer it is a good proof of the quality of your design. If it is copied, you have done a good job!

I believe it was Coco Chanel -while consoling a young designer who had her designs copied...

Don't cry when someone copies your designs... cry when they don't!

Great design works in smaller scale as well. And to my eye very Beo-inspired indeed.

I think more than just the stand owes a debt to B&O in that top picture. The entire redesigned Apple line of products fits right in with a range of B&O products, from the Beosystem 6500 onwards. Place an iPhone, iPad, Macbook or Cinema display together with a number of B&O products, and you'd think they were not only made for one another, but were made by the same designer.

Maybe Ive owes Jensen and Lewis a pretty big bar bill when they meet in a pub.

Well, he's already acknowledged his debt to Dieter Rams - perhaps he should take them all out to dinner!
