Hi fellow members,
One way or another the Beovox 5000 always fascinates me.
I was wondering how much these are worth to buy which I found on a non official auction site in the Netherlands called Marktplaats.
Lots of bargains you can find on this site .
The Beovox seems to be in a pretty good shape and the owners has replaced the capacitors.
Anyone who knows what these Beovoxes are worth?
Leslie

Not much in my experience of watching them sell on Ebay. I have seen them generally sell for very little but if 2 bidders really want them then anything can happen, I have long since stopped trying to fnd any logic to prices on ebay. They have very limited appeal due to the size which doesn't sit well with modern thinking. The main appeal would be to somone who is looking to put together a full Beolab 5000 system. If the condition is good then that will be a good starting point.
Chris.

Thanks Chris, thought these types were special and hard to get. Watching Ebay (DE and UK) all the time but never seen these before.

Some were sold HERE on eBay for £160.00
If you think nobody cares, try missing a couple of payments.

John,
Yes. Change of plan forces sale.
I had in my mind to build a room with retro cool 70's B&O but then reality hit & I knew they'd just sit in the attic for the next 10 years until I got round to them so thought they'd better go to someone who'll appreciate them more.

Ah! I wonder if my MC120.2s would sit on the plinth without a gap? Might have to get the tape measure out tonight!

John,
The top plates are too big for your 120's - I checked!
Are you bidding anyway?

Might well do Cleve - had a check on the reference section here and it looks like the MC120.2s are 5 and 15mm too small for the plinths. Not sure if that would be noticeable???

Never realized that they were yours! Before, I took a closer look and was umm... 73% interested in actually placing a bid! You almost got me there!

Hi Leslie,
Yep, I'm the lucky one.
Has anyone ever tried these speakers in combination with the B&O Hifi amp 608 ?

Not exactly my first choice for car speakers, but I suppose they sound pretty good

So, did one of us get them? I just missed out, but I hope it was someone on this site.

Never mind - it was part of my long-term plan to convert fully my partner's son to B&O. He'd read Tim Jarman on the BC3500 in 'Hi Fi World' and had fallen in love with it. I recently found one on ebay (collecting it on Monday) and thought he should have some 3800s to go with it, which crop up fairly regularly. The only thing you don't see very often are the trumpet stands. hence my enthusiasm.
I still like your floor!
