Bentleyman:
Someone has placed a minimum £100 bid, thus removing the Buy-it Now option. What was it? I guess sometimes high BiY prices are used to make the minimum normal bid price look a bargain!

Hi Graham,
Yes I think people do that for the reason you said.
The original BIN price he was asking was £400.

The X25's are a fine speaker. Assuming you are profoundly deaf, or have never in your life heard another loudspeaker.

These X25's have been relisted at least half a dozen times to my knowledge at this price. Some people just don't seem to get the hint do they?
Chris.

Same old thing - i'm on the receiving end of this every day.. Just because it has 'BANG & OLUFSEN' written on it, it must be worth a lot of money..
"but i paid a fortune for this in 1983" is the stock reply when i advise the value of a BeoCenter 2200 with X25's (nothing!) - and i find it hard not to say "sorry my friend, but you were had.."
On the other hand though, there are some products that did indeed cost a fortune and are absolute works of art like the Beomaster 900 RG which are now worth pennies. I had one of these in my dining room (and gave it to a BeoWorld member for free i think!) and was blown away by the craftsmanship and great sound. I love the 900RG.
I also know this is hypocritical as i sell them for the going rate (because i have to pay top dollar for them too), but the BeoGram 4500 and 7000's have run away with themselves as far as asking prices go. They're good, but they're not that good!
BeoVision 5 are todays bargain. On ebay i've seen them as low as £1,500 which is an absolute steal. You can use one of these instead of a pair of BeoLab 6000's - the BV5 sounds better!! Great PQ, great design, the all important 'flat screen' - Bargain.
BeoCenter 9300 and 9500 will become classics and rise in value. Get one now whilst you can, and get the matching record deck too. BeoSystem 4500 with wall brackets in mint condition are investment certainties you can enjoy too. I could go on!
*ahem* this has turned into one of my rambles. Sorry.

Yes Lee,
A Beovision 5 is now what i'm looking for - I keep checking your lifestyle site but you seem to mainly have the black/black ones in at the moment, whereas when I go for one I want a Alu/black with motorized stand
Kicking myself really because there was such a one on ebay a few months ago in Worcestershire that went for a super low price (something like £1440 if I remember right).
As a matter of interest, how much would you charge to deliver (and install..?) a beovision 5 up to me here in Rochdale..?
Regards,
Michael

Sorry - really, that wasn't an advert for any of my products - it was a general observation of todays market! I make a point of never mentioning my 'other business' and i'm sorry if my comments were misleading in any way.
Please feel free to PM me - but LifeStyle AV stuff isn't for the forums - sorry..

Please do go on. I enjoy reading everyone's opinion, then going to the product section to look at the units. Then I either have an "Oh, yeah, I listened to that back in '89 in HiFi buys in Ann Arbor, Michigan...."
But I'm also keeping a list of Beoworlder Approved for future possible buys. Being new to the site, the list is currently very short.....
Current primary listening: SMMC20EN -> BG4002 -> BM4000 -> Beovox M70

Rich: But I'm also keeping a list of Beoworlder Approved for future possible buys.
That would make an interesting thread.
There is a very short list of THEE pieces to have from specific eras.
As you seem to have been thoroughly bitten w/ the bug... I highly recommend adding this to your immediate shopping list!
