    Hmm [^o)] Speakers S55

    Hi from Australia,

Purchased a pair of S55's, needs some work to them, looks like the speakers may need replacing. Can anyone advise where I can get replacements. I guess may be worth also replacing the caps, while I open these up.

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards

    Michael

The woofers are 6,4 Ohms and in my experience you won't find any good modern substitutes.
Having the original woofers refoam'ed is the best and cheapest solution in my opinion.
Depending on your location, there are both pro refoam'ers and other trained guys that can help you.
I'm in Denmark and your woofers are welcome here.
A capacitor kit is available and recommended.

    Thank you Martin,

Appreciate the advice. Being in Australia, it would not be practical to get them to you. Good to know, anyway.

There are many speaker "re-furbishers" on the net that "claim" equal end results with alternative speakers refitted to B&O products.

Thanks once again...maybe a slow long time project for me, but Im patient.

    Kind regards

Unless some components are physically damaged, burned or broken, you only need to replace the capacitors.
Capacitor kits are available for convenience, they can be sent worldwide.
    PM me for details.
