M100
MS150
S45-2
S120/MC120.2
S75
However remember a lot of B&O systems were desgned as exactly that. Beovox 1200s are pretty average speakers with most systems but work very well with the Beomaster 1200.

I have Beovox Pentas, MC120.2s, CX50s, Beovox 1000s and a Cona. I'd say the Pentas and MC120.2s would be in my top 5. The 120.2s are awesome speakers for their relatively small size!

I have now Beolab 9 - a speaker that have all - high and deep.
Before: Beolab Penta III - and before that Beovox MC120.2 (with Beomaster 6000).
Beovox MC 120.2 was a very very good speaker (together with Beomaster 6000). Should I have a passive speaker again, I would go for this one.

Re: What do you think of beovox speakers - list your top 5
Beovox 2600 give superb output with BM1200. S45s seem as good as S45.2. No foam rot in any of these speakers. As Peter says, speakers were often intended for particular systems, perhaps more so than the general rule with speakers of matching amplifier output to the speaker or running the risk of the amp not having the power to drive the speaker at its optimum level, or having too much power.
As can be seen in other discussion threads,Beovox passive speakers have a softer tone that is preferred by many to the sharper Beolab active speaker outputs.

2. S120's and MC120.2's
3. S45.2's
4. BV5000 panels athough they should be in position 1 because of the pure beauty of the things
5. CX range

1. Beovox penta's
2. Beovox5000 flat panel... just amazing sound and design...Though look and sound even better in beolab version
3. S45.2 if you're into 'ol style, especially classic gear and sound great with vinyl.
4. RL60.2/RL6000 can have fantastic sound ....if positioned properly.
5. CX100 .. good sound from a compact speaker.

Re: What do you think of beovox speakers - list your top 5
1. MS150/MS150.2
2. MC120.2/S120
3. Beovox Penta
4. Beovox 5000 (panels)
5. S45/45.2
Based purely on how they sound but if I had to have just one pair out of all these it would be the MC120.2's, very easy to live with.

Re: What do you think of beovox speakers - list your top 5
This is a combination of what I have or heard and what I would like to have but haven't heard. Limited purely to Beovox rather than Beolabs, and placed in the context of an amplifier/speaker combination
S45.2s with my Beocenter 4000 (the 70s one, althoiugh I'm currently using them with my BM4400
CX100s with a Beocenter 9500
I'd really like some MC120.2s/S120s to go with my BM 8000 - I love the balanced, accurate sound of these speakers
and ideally (along with a bigger house)
MS150.2s for the BM8000
M100s for the BM4400
It seems the S45.2s and the 120s are very popular!

Re: What do you think of beovox speakers - list your top 5
Well I can only comment on the Beovox's that I've listened to.
Quite impressed with the RL140's and as said before have to be positioned correctly though. S75's very good then I would say I quite enjoy my 5700's, then S55. Don't like the S30's at all, not sure I understand the point of them.

Re: What do you think of beovox speakers - list your top 5
The S45-2 set that I rebuilt the crossovers on a month ago left me in awe. Has me 'jonsen' for a set of S75's.
The CX-100 can really belt out the sound for a small speaker, best compact speaker I have ever owned.
The RL60 set I have that I replaced the missing passive resonance panels with passive radiators works well with a BM5000 and surprisingly probably the best speaker I use with my BM4000. The mod may have made it more suitable for that amp. Dont really know.
The RL60.2 is also very nice and works well with the BM5000, 3300 , 3000 series that they were more or less produced for.
The S50 has good bass and for the price I paid including stands was worth it. Not a bad speaker.
The S80.2 is awaiting a crossover rebuild. At present its seems a bit flat and sometimes the base can be a bit distorted. It comes and goes with this one, The drivers have new surrounds and I dont believe they are damaged. The distortion is due to the cabinet rattling a bit. Needs reworked.

Re: What do you think of beovox speakers - list your top 5
My first Beo speakers were BeoLab 5000s. I first used them in passive mode and they sounded very warm, lovely mids but lack a little in bass. I now use them in active mode, with their amps (of course!), and they are fantastic but still light on the bass. I added a pair of BeoVox Conas to this system and it is much improved. All powered through my BeoMaster 4500. Terrific!
After this I gained a pair of RL60.2s, great speakers however my pair was not completely "in-tact." I used them with a Yamaha Natural Sound R-7 receiver.
My favorite BeoVoxs are my S45-2s. Simply an amazing speaker. If you can find them, buy them, great. So much sound density comes with these speakers. Richness is this one's specialty. I use mine with a BeoMaster 3000-2.

Re: What do you think of beovox speakers - list your top 5
My Beovox experience so far:
1: Beovox M150 they go very well with a Beomaster 8000.
2: Beovox S120 they sound very good and go well with a Beomaster 6000. I'm lucky to have it in white edition.
3: Beovox S80.2 a little less bass than S120 but as a second speaker pair with S120 really full sound and good on its own. Again white edition.
4: Beovox CX100 and S45-2 a tie. They sound great on their own and with a Beomaster 6000/6500.
