    BV7-40 Mk1 and 2

Any difference between these other than standard HD on the mk2? No difference in the panel and processing used?

    Yes there is,

according to the specs the MK2 has a better contrast ratio, a faster refresh time & a better viewing angle than the MK1.

I am trying to find the detailed specs for the MK3 at the time it was released, I know it 1080 but I wanted to see the contrast ratio & refresh time etc.

Are these specs available on Beoworld somewhere or elsewhere on line? I know there's quite a significant change with the mk3 but I'd like to clear up the mk1 and 2 differences - these are fast approaching my purchase price bracket.

    Hi David,

I pulled these specs from 2005/06 & 2006/07 brochures that I still have.

The change to the MK3 panel increased the contrast ratio to 1200:1, the refresh stayed the same at 8ms but of course the biggest change was the move to a 1080p panel along with the beosystem 3 engine driving it.

As per my earlier post  about the MK2 to my eyes (which are very good by the way) at approx 3m from the screen there was not a lot between the two with a HD 1080i source apart from the MK3 was a tad brighter & obviously the contrast was improved.

Everyone will see things different but let your own eyes & pocket decide.

Thanks beolife. These link to the same PDF (Mk3) . I found the specs at http://lifestyle-av.co.uk/range_info.asp?range_id=9

Only difference between Mk1 & 2 stated as being HD

    Hi David,

As I had said earlier the MK2 did benefit from an updated panel over the MK1 with faster refresh time of 8ms over 10ms which is a 20% improvement  , better contrast ratio 10 against 800 which again is a 20% improvement & better viewing angle of 89 degrees vs 85 degrees.

So as you can see a MK2 is superior to a MK1.

I was found these from a post by moxxey when I was searching the forums for BV7-MK2 info.

PS I noticed that the link to the MK2 was incorrect, I have now fixed it to show the correct info.

    Re: BV7-40 Mk1 and 2

Found my own brochures with the specs after all that. Yes the improvement between MK1 and 2 is very noticable on paper at least. The response time and viewing angle for the MK2 is the same as the MK3. The MK3 contrast ratio goes up to 1200:1 and todays 7-40 version is 4000:1.

Thanks again for the info beolife.

    David
