beomaster 2200 1,6 A fuse blows as soon as switched on

where to start? we've had a quick look , replaced fuse (which was actually 1A ) above voltage dial with a proper rated 1.6A but that blew straight away

what's the commonest cause  for fuses blowing in these pls?

would it be the big heavy metal thing in the middle perchance?

A good place to start would be to isolate the rectifier from the transformer secondary and
see if the fuse still blows.
If it does - the transformer or power switch is at fault.
If not - the rectifier or something drastic around the voltage regulators and/or amplifiers has gone wrong.
The capacitors on the regulator module PCB are causing many strange faults. A cap kit is available but
    check the rectifier/transformer etc. first.

many thanks , as always Martin.

I disconnected everything downstream from transformer I think ...

i.e 2 black wires disappear into voltage dial (rectifier?) and come out and feed into 1.6A fuses before entering(transformer?) via numerous waxed red & green cloth covered wires.

More wires come out from this transformer & supply tiny PCB.... I disconnected all items from this PCB thinking that is what you had suggested .. I hope I'm right.

Anyhow, , as soon as i hit P1 button the 1.6A fuse that feeds the green cloth covered  wire going to transformer blew.

the other 1.6A fuse is OK

    guess I'm needing a transformer ...

I prized apart the two halves of the outer shell with the hope of having all revealed, but not a lot can be seen inside other than a white donut with a few black streaks under the plastic wrapping
