    Select Beo4 navigation wheel ?!

    Hello Peter and Svend fans,

I just received a Beo4 with navigation wheel (to test what's wrong with the IR receiver of my BV10-40) and I'm unable to select the right remote in the menu.

Each time I select "Beo4 with navigation wheel" in the "choice of Beo4" menu it goes automatically on "Beo4 without navigation wheel" and stays like that.

    I can't select it and it's frustrating.

    Any clue here please ?

    Cheers,

    Gregory

Your remote is set to work as a normal beo 4 out of the box (mode 2). you have to set it to mode 3 then you can select with navi. press list and st.by at the same time to enter the setup on beo 4.

    The Stig - ver. 1.7:

Your remote is set to work as a normal beo 4 out of the box (mode 2). you have to set it to mode 3 then you can select with navi. press list and st.by at the same time to enter the setup on beo 4.

I know mode 2 is for "old" Beo4 use with navigation button just for pressing GO and BACK is EXIT...

Mode 1 and mode 3 are for the new navigation function - with some nice new features btw - But what is the difference between mode 1 and 3?

It´s not mentioned in the manual....

Depending on the TVs of your link system you should select

    either Mode 1:

    - When all televisions have the Beo4 setting menu and
    - When no television in the link system is operated with an older Beo4

    For instance:
    Main room  : A1 chassis e.g. BV 7-40 Mk3/4/5
    Link room 1: B6 chassis e.g. BV/BC 6-26
    Link room 2: C2.x chassis e.g. BV 10-40/46

or Mode 2: (default setting ex factory)

    - Works like Beo4 (162x)
    - When at least one television in the link system does not have the Beo4 setting menu …
    - … or is operated with old Beo4

    For instance:
    Main room  : A1 chassis e.g. BV 7-40 Mk3/4/5
    Link room 1: B6 chassis e.g. BV/BC 6-26
    Link room 2: S2 chassis e.g. Avant/Beosystem 1/2

    or Mode 3:

    - When a television with C2.x chassis is placed in the main room
      (with navigation button´selected)
    - When there is no television with A1 chassis in the link system
    - When at least one link room television in the link system
does not have the Beo4 setting menu
    - When no television in the link system is operated with an older Beo4

    For instance:
    Main room  : C2.xx chassis e.g. BV 10-40/46
    Link room 1: B6 chassis e.g. BV/BC 6-26
    Link room 2: S2 chassis e.g. Avant/Beosystem 1/2

Thanks for your reply. Can all LCD Beovisions be upgraded to "Beo4 setting menu" ?

    There is a BV7-40 MKIII, a BC6-26 and a BV6-22 in my setup.

As far as I know - not being 100% sure about it

!Yes!  - for BV 7-40Mk3 - SW update needed
?Yes? - for BC6-26  - SW update needed
    ! No ! -  for BV6-22

When the labtop is coming to your house, try to update the BC6-26 too.
As I understand the issue, due to different hardware, some can be
updated to be Beo4 1710 compatible - others not.

Re: Select Beo4 navigation wheel ?!

So, in mode 3 it worked with BV10-40.

    Thanks a lot again !

BTW, the new setup "beo4 with navigation wheel and selected in the menu" didn't change my IR receiver problem.

New beo4 is going back to the shop.

    Cheers,

    BV 9 / BSys3 / BC 6-23 /BC 6-26:

If IOP version is 23.00 or higher the TV can be updated, if version lower than 23.00 it can not
