Hi guys

I yesterday picked up a Beomaster 1001 from a very nice gent who owned it from new in 1969. lol It's been in storage for the last 10 years!  Pretty cool looking tuner/amp I have to say and my first B&O. It switched on when I plugged it in which I thought was a victory in itself. lol Here's the problem though:
-It has lights for fm (when the radio's selected) and stereo when tuned into a station
-At extremely soft volumes, these lights work, but as soon as I turn it a little louder, the lights go out and then the sound cuts out as well.

If I then turn down the volume, the sound comes back and the lights go on again.

Any ideas gents?

Probably the main smoothing capacitor.
That'll be the large one sitting in a bracket at the end of the amplifier board.
Mount a 6800uF 63V and you'll be fine.
