Re-tuning B&O remote control away from Sky

This is my first post. Please bear with me as we are not 'techy' but love B&O and have had various music systems and TV's over the years.

However! Having just got our Avant 32 with video back with a new tube Sad, we now want to disconnect the B&O remote control from Sky i.e. use the remote for the music system and TV channels 1,2,3,4,5 and the Sky remote for Sky programmes - if that makes sense?

Anyone out there that can give 'idiot proof' instructions would be very welcome!Whistle

Pick up Sky remote.  Use Sky remote.

It doesn't have to be either/or.  Unless there's a problem with having the ability to control it with the Beo4?

Welcome to the forum Scottie. I'm not sure whether I fully understand the problem, but I assume that you are accessing Sky using the Sat button on your Beo4. If you want to use the Sat button for some other box, e.g. Freeview, you will need to access the on screen set-up menus and identify the freeview or alternative box you want to use. If your TV is pre-freeview in manufacture you may need to get a new STB Chip fitted, or alternatively use something like an HDR1 which has the later Chip and can be used for STB control instead of the TV built-in chip. Obviously you'll need to transfer the IR blaster from the Skybox to the new STB.

You should be able to use the normal TV button for Channels 1-5 if analogue broadcasts are still available in your area, but as soon as your area goes digital (if it hasn't already happened) you will lose the use of the TV button and as far as I am aware there is no way you can re-assign the TV button for Satellite or Freeview STB use.

Many thanks to you both. Sorry for the delay in replying. I have only just logged on again - I thought when there was a reply on a forum an automatic e:mail was generated?

Many thanks to you both. Don't ask how we did it - but everything back in working order. Surprise
