More than 1 client connected to BM5

I just discovered that it is possible to have more than 1 client connected to BM5 at the same time. This didn`t work with the earlier software.

Right now I`m listening to three different songs from my BM5 - just for testing...

First in the mainroom via Beosound 5 and in the bathroom via BL3500 - 2nd on my macbook wireless via Beoplayer - 3rd on my mac mini in a linkroom wireless via Beoplayer. If I remember correctly there was no info about this new feature in Beo`s guide...(?).  Works great!

Is that one source through the PL out on the BM5, one source through the ML network and one soruce through the ethernet (BeoPlayer)

And different songs on each of the sources? Can you mix n.music and n.radio?

Current collection: BeoVision 7-40 mk III, BeoLab 7-4, BeoLab 3 and BeoSound/BeoMaster 5.

Seriously, it's a beautiful package of excellent and awesomeness!

Re: More than 1 client connected to BM5

    No. Wouldn´t work.

The first is BS5 - stereo out/Masterlink - mainroom, linkrooms.

2nd is BS5 - ethernet - airport extreme - wireless Mac mini (Beoplayer).

    3rd is BS5 - ethernet - airport extreme - wireless Macbook (Beoplayer).

All three units are working independantly from each other. You can browse and listen to different songs.

A mix of N.MUSIC and N.RADIO is possible.

Do you mean that you access the BMs harddisk from different computers and then is available to choose whatever tune you like disregarding what the BS5 is doing?

    Interesting!

I'll replace BeoConnect and give BeoPlayer a try later today.

Yes, right. I can access my BM5 via Beoplayer installed on my macbook/mac mini. This already worked with earlier software, but not more than one client at the same time. If the BS5/BM5 is in standby mode, Beoplayer will wake it up.

I installed BeoPlayer yesterday and it works like a charm!

Will take some time to get use to the user interface though...

Re: More than 1 client connected to BM5

Does this make it possible to connect more than one BS5 to the BM5, or is it only possible to connect, say, an airport and a Squeezebox duet to it, in addition to the BS5?

This is the same as with any pc connected to a network, or even any network attached storage device.

You won't be able to connect another BS5, as this is simply a monitor (VGA) and Human-Interface-Device (USB).  In order to make this work, you'd need two soundcards, two graphics cards, and something to lock the HID inputs to each instance of the program.  And allow fullscreen on both, which windows won't ordinarily do.  It's not going to happen.

I realy don't understand why it's not possible from my PC, to command the beosound 5 for what I heard from the speaker in the main room and to listen the same music at the same time on my PC ?

It`s because your PC can`t be the remote for your BS5. You can use your PC with Beoplayer installed to access the BM5 hard disk and to copy music to your BM5 or vice versa to your PC. If you want to listen to the same music in your linkroom simultaneously you`ll need a linksystem like a BL active - sounds anyway better.....
